Looking for guidance based on ownership experience. Currently have the Low Decibel Challenge exhaust, Capristo bypass valve, new style OEM metal matrix Ferrari/Ansa cats on my F355 spider. '97 5.2. Looking for something a bit lower volume when bypass closed but distinct difference when open. Seriously considering the Twin Sound Capristo F_driver is selling in the classifieds but understand the system is very loud bypass open or closed. Is this the case? Option also considering is a Capristo Level 1. My understanding only about 10 decibels louder than stock when bypass closed, great sound when open. Thanks for the help!
Hi John, One of my 95's has the sound 2. I really, really like it. At idle it sounds cool and not offensive. Same for slow cruising but when you get on the car and the bypass opens all hell breaks loose You might want to reach out to Mike from Yellow Compass and he has been giving great deals on new Capristo units.
Thank you Dave. Level 1 appears to be the system that will meet my requirements. My understanding level 1 is limited availability. Most buy level 3! Will be sending some "sticky" vents your way for refinishing. Nice work!
My understanding is that Sound 2 and Sound 3 are the only SKUs available. The way it was described by Capristo in a post in the past was that the 2 and the 3 designated how loud the car was when idle. 2 was louder than 3 (not sure exactly how much louder). At full throttle, the sounds for the two exhausts should be the same F1 howl. Sound 2 looks to be more of a special order and Sound 3 looks to be what more owners have purchased in the past (I could be wrong). I personally have a Sound 3 as I wanted my idle to be fairly tame. Others here (Robb, Dave, Luke) I believe all have had Sound 2s and they swear by it. I'm pretty sure you won't go wrong with either model.
Thanks Ferrari bud. My understanding was 3 is the louder with 2 and 1 lower volume. Cannot go wrong with any level capristo!
