I don't feel any loss of power anywhere, and since the car sounds so much better it is a huge improvement in enjoyment through the entire rev range. The car just gets up and goes! This is a 2002 360 coupe. The Capristo is wonderful!

This may have been discussed before, but how does a Capristo compare to a Tubi? e.g. sound, performance.

I have a '99 F355. Everyone in the UK loves Tubis, but it would be good to have something different.

    Anyone got any sound files?

    Robert.

Mark wrote a real interesting thread about a year ago on the loss of bottom end torque when switching to a more free flow system such as Tubi. His write up was based on a 355...what do you have your Caps on?

I actaully like the sound of the Capristo, it's louder (but not deeper) than Tubi, especially during idle.

Capristo acutally makes the car pulls harder at 7000+ RPM compare to Tubi. Capristo does have a significant lag @ lower RPM which Tubi lacks and has a slight bigger exhaust tips.

I admit Capristo does sounds A LOT better then you start your engine while leaving Starbucks with all eyes at you. Tubi is not as loud when starting the car and it sounds like "didn't-do-it-right" in 1/15 times. I don't know why Tubi is doing that.

Anyhow, I sold my Capristo and I have Tubi now.

I ran dyno sheets with the same car, same time over three days, same temp, etc. first with stock, then tubi, then capristo. there is absolutely no difference in the power or torque curve of any of the three. the tubi and capristo are actually both 1 hp less than stock which I think is from the lack of back pressure. I also built a custom one off 100% titanium exhaust and tested it and it came in at the same HP. Capristo sounds best (not including my titanium exhaust).

Alas, some qualitative evidence!!! Jimmy keeps taking about a "torque loss at low rpm" and "significant lag" with the Capristo. I have never felt any torque or hp loss with the Capristo, nor does it seem anybody else has either, except Jimmy.

Tim's dyno runs are concrete proof that nothing, or just about nothing, has been lost in either horsepower or torque between any of the systems. This, in reality, is the only real way to give proper information on these exhausts. I.E. How exactly does Jimmy qualify the car had more lag with the Capristo, perhaps he was running some bad gas when he had it on or something else? All it takes is one person's comments to trounce the reputation of a product, in fairness to Capristo I think there needs to be some qualification when potentially damaging comments are made towards a product.

If i do remember well Jimmy was using an LC Racing exhaust, the racing version of the Capristo, a.k.a. Capristo level 3... maybe that's explain the "significant lag @ lower RPM" and the "car pulls harder at 7000+ RPM"...

on the 360 if you use a system that is to free flowing you will loose a LITTLE low end power. the difference will be most noticable when shifting. after completing the gear selection and then applying the throttle the car lays over for a second. this usually can be fixed by just bolting on the factory tips that have the valves on them. The Capristo system rocks. it looks good, it sounds good and its priced right. did I mention that it makes you Ferrari actually sound like a Ferrari.
