I am considering the Capristo full exhaust system (headers/cats/muffler) for my Scud and was hoping anyone on the board that has made this mod could give me their impressions? I have seen posts about the headers and muffler installed separately, but want impressions of whole system, it's expensive and want to make sure I make a good decision. Along with the obvious increase in power and would like to your impression of the sound quality vs. stock and the decreased under hood temps this system should provide. Either pm me or post your thoughts.

You don't need the headers as the SCUD OEM ones have no cats (unlike standard 430 which does have cats)

I am considering this as well and have the same questions, especially about sound quality vs. stock.

The price of the Capristo headers become negligible once you get the complete system with blankets. Highly recommended.

The OEM headers already have some insulation and its at least $4,000 less without the headers if you include the fitting and its the CATS which get the hottest, Russell your thoughts ?

I have upgraded to the Capristo Scuderia system on my 16M, but only cats and muffler - additionally as mentioned you can change the headers. I didn't change the headers for 2 reasons; 1st the Scud already has no precats in the headers and so doesn't suffer from the problem affecting regular 430's where the precat breaks up and gets sucked back into the engine with catastrophic results; 2nd my F car dealer wasn't prepared to fit the headers and keep the factory warranty,(not to mention the extra 4500 euros for the headers!).

In addition to the sound and remote valve control, the main advantage the Capristo system has is the superb mounting bracket and sprung sliding bolts. This removes the huge stresses that build up in all 430 exhausts as they heat up and expand.

I can thoroughly recommend the system and would say there is a considerable drop in engine bay temperature, especially if you run valves open all the time as I do, the muffler barely gets hot without gases running through it.

I can't comment on how the sound differs between my car with just cats and muffler, compared to Richard's with headers as well, but I can stay mine sounds stunning. Wonderful sound throughout the rev range and a grin a minute at any speed and any revs with the down blips.

Russ said it. I'm just too lazy to describe. Been asked too many times.

I keep meaning to fix it up but in the next few weeks I really will get round to fitting the Ferrari telemetry kit i purchased and get some video and sound files posted.

I did the Capristo headers for the sole reason on the headers insulation jackets. However, the car gained power which is a nice thing.

The best sound quality was on stock cats, stock headers and RSC Tuning muffler.

I have plans to install Capristo mufflers later on, due to their valved design, and the better air flow when valves are open compared to the stock muffler.

Currently, I run on Capristo headers, capristo flex pipes and rsc tuning muffler. Car is loud, but sound is great. A little drone in the low range of the RPM, but I try not to drive on that range.
