I had my heart set on a three but the guys in Kent reckon a 1 or 2 for a spider!? So far 2 votes for a 3 then!

I have a berlinetta so it might be a bit loud in a spider.

    Go with the stage 3.
I read somewhere that all three were actually the same.

There all the same when the valve opens, it's at low rpm there different. 1 being a touch louder than stock and 3 being loud all the time..

Dave Helms does not recommend a stage 3 for a spyder...

    I vote stage 2.

Do you know what generation it is mate? How old is it?

And you don't find it too loud in traffic or town etc?

2 ......... with bypass valve .... I´ve installed this since a month ago and I am so pleased. If You use the car early in the morning, fire her up in the neighborhood, I shurly go for the stage 2. 3 is to loud for daily use, You must be aware that the sound level is higher even with the bypass closed, and at some RPM (1500-2000) there is a "droon" on high gears.

I am in Sweden and the soundlevel for "3" is to high. I pass the police with the stage 2 but I am sure that with 3 they will hunt me down ....

    I vote for 1, 2 and 3.

They are all the same loudness when the by-pass valve opens. Only difference is at idle, IIRC.

See [post=142243423]my post[/post] from an earlier thread.

But what makes a significant difference in volume as well as quality of exhaust sound are the cats. Ditch those stock cats and pair up a Cappy with HyperFlows then you'll see what I mean. :D

HaHa...your Swedish police must be half deaf. :D

I already got flagged down by my local PoPo with my stage 2 Cappy and cited with a modified exhaust ticket!!

Thanks for all the comments! So far 6 votes for a 3 and 4 for a 2.

On the basis I only use my 355 when the sun is out and on wknds which in the UK isn't exactly often - stage 3? Or 2 with hyper flows?

Stage 1, test pipes (if you can), new header!

Stage 2 if you have a whole neighbourhood that likes the sound of Ferraris!

Stage 1 my choice, should keep you happy...and everyone else!

Wow. What do they do with Harley Davidsons? Some of those things are so effing loud that, and, I'm being serious here, they're lucky (the riders, that is) that there are murder laws in our country.

How would one even go about acquiring a Stage 1 exhaust? I've only been able to find a Stage 3.

The decision seems to boil down to what you use your car for. If it's a weekend track car, then Stage 3, for sure. If you drive the car around a city or in traffic, Stage 1...anything more might be a bit obnoxious.

I have a stage 1, acquired used from another Fchatter. I have QV exhaust manifolds, stock catalysts and Capristo bypass valve. This system is LOUD, even at idle...and on bypass it is insane. When I go to the drive up at the bank the gals all ask why my car is so loud, just idling. ;)

I think if you have a B, then a stage 2 or 3 might be better, just so you can actually hear it, but with the spider the 1 is plenty loud enough with the top down. I was surprised how little of the exhaust I could hear with the top up. Trust me, everyone one else can...

I have heard stage 2, and my opinion is the differences are pretty subtle between them all

Stage two. I have heard it driving behind someone I know, and loved the sound. Stage three is probably too noisy for a car that does not move that fast.
