Capt. Willie...... We look forward to your photos and adventures on the High Seas, since you are not available to cruise with the SSC for the next two months. Watch out for the Pirates! ...Wishing you safe passage thorugh those waters.
Yeah Captain, when they approach from behind do a crash stop maneuver and introduce them to the propeller of your ship!
+1 Looking forward to seeing you again in FL when we get down there again. Take care out there. George & Carola
Capt. Willie... See any pirates yet? Are you planning to paint a US Gunship (with wake) on the side of your freighter? Send pictures of life on the Red Sea, when able.
Ah gee, thanks guys...... Well, it has been raining almost the entire voyage.... weather broke for a sunset shot... albeit kind of lame, but, hey, it is a photo.... We've seen lots of dolphins and whales, but nothing close by for a decent shot.... I'll keep working on it.... We are passing well to the north and east of the Azores.... activity should pick up when we get into the Med. I'll keep you posted and hopefully you won't read about the Mighty Maersk Missouri in the newspapers.... Looking forward to getting back to the 328 in mid August ! Just turned 40,000 miles this last time home !!! Take care ya'll !! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, that is what it takes the ship to come at a full stop from her cruising speed. But if you are in a small speed boat chasing the ship at say 24knots and you are getting close..... and all of the sudden the ship is getting real close to you, fast, because the propeller is going the other way and it is sucking water from under you instead of pushing water to you, well, you get the idea......
Walt... let the Scuderia Space Coast boys know you are in town... they are always looking for an excuse to meet at Hooters or some other haunt in the neighborhood.... thanks for the exercising of the car offer..... I'll put you on the list.... !!! Looks like you are # 105, but hey, that's a good thing.
Here's last night's sunset for you..... a little pink on the high clouds.... waiting for a green flash...... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think there was a scene in the Raiders of the Lost Arc series that is a good demonstration of what a 26+ foot prop can do....maybe it was James Bond.... eh.... anyway, we just hope to out run the little @#$%...
Nice sunset shots....thanks for sharing. Any shots of the Rock of Gilbralter? Please take some shots when you reach land. Eager to see some of your destination photos since you are the world traveler.
Like the old saying,"red sky at night" I guess that could apply to a pink sky as well. Some people think I'm B.S.ing them with the green flash thing. One of the best I have ever seen was off Bermuda.
An how long have you been in Florida? Though it's probably not what your thinking http://www.visitflorida.com/experts/beach_and_surf/action.blog/id.166 Here is a photo of a green flash at sunset taken in Sarasota, Florida. http://www.atoptics.co.uk/atoptics/gfim4.htm
Greetings Ya'll.... Cool stuff Wade.... I've seen a lot of sunsets like those shown, and I think I've got some green flash photos that rival those as well..... Went into the Persian Gulf to Jebel Ali - the major port for Dubai, and we encountered the remnants of an Iraqi sand storm.... dust everywhere.... from there, we sailed on to Pakistan, where the day before we arrived, they had over 6 feet of rain in 24 hours... yes, 6 feet...... !!! Glad we float..... Just left Pakistan on the way to Bombay, India.... Once we leave there, I'll have some time to sort thru photos and post a few cool sunset shots from the recent past.. to include a green flash or two... trip is half over and I should be home in mid August ! Until then... keep driving !! Remember......
