    Thought I'd pull this out of the bagels thread....


    Why not go Meadowbrook or Wantagh & ride out via the Ocean Pkwy (presuming your not in go-fast mode) ? Why go all the way to exit 51 & Robert Moses?

    BTW: have to jump on the service road to find the rest stop?

    Agreed Clyde, the run down Ocean Parkway is much more enjoyable. I'll look for you tomorrow.

    For those of you coming from the west then this is an real nice ride along the ocean. The only reason we suggested to meet at the rest stop is that we can all ride down there together. But beware...Ocean Parkway is straight as can be and very tempting to break the speed limit. And in some areas (approaching the traffic circle) is 35 mph. We will be at the rest stop at 7am for those interested. I'd put on a front plate as well then remove it once we are there.

    I think I'm out. The run out at 5:30am isn't bad, but getting stuck in Holiday traffic at 10:00am at the tunnel(s) or bridge does not make me smile.
