Just for curiosity .... how many 348 in the brotherhood are equipped with car alarm system ?
Mine didn't come with one and I just installed it. Got it from Amazon for about $40 and I have to say i am really satisfied with the final result. It's a complete kit, it comes with 2 two buttons remotes (doors lock/unlock) and has all the capabilities of any sophisticated car alarm system. Fairly easy to install, took me about 4 hours to complete.

If anyone is interested, below is the link ...

    Nice work mate. :):)

I *was* going to have one fitted a few years ago..............but then decided against it. :):)

I mainly wanted it to have central locking via remote, no other reason. :D:D

Mine has a central unlocking system and Clifford system that was installed by a PO. The alarm siren has been disabled, but the central locking is fantastic !!! I don't know if I have *ever* used my key to open the door. The little fob works great.

For theft protection, I use the Hill Engineering shift gate lock. Will it stop a very determined thief? No. Will it stop a punk from trying to pry it off? No. Will it present a strong "visual deterrent" for thugs who are thinking about a crime of opportunity? Yes. Is it a great thing to use when parking at a restaurant (top off) or someplace where I'll be away from the car for an hour or two? Yes.

I don't have one (unless you count the baseball bat I carry around :D)

I don't leave it out of my sight, ever, unless it is parked in at home in my garage.

    Very cool, Roberto! :):)

Mine has a Viper alarm with the key fob, but one of the wires is disconnected (at least I'm fairly certain that this wire is part of the Viper system). I haven't messed with trying to get it working out of fear that I'll screw up something else. Note: I found this when troubleshooting the driver door window problems. So I wrapped the connector with electrical tape and left it alone, for the time being anyway...

I have an aftermarket that was installed by the prior owner, must have been a good one at tha time, it has a volume sensor of some sort for when the top is down. I always forget and set the darn thing off reaching into the interior with the top down.

I have an Alpine SEC-8052 Alarm system installed in my 348 but I am missing the remotes.

    SEC-8447A
    FCC# A269ZUA049

Can anyone here help me on where I might find these remotes, Google has not helped.

    Thanks

I'm going new Lo Jack which is GPS locator only. They don't do systems now because of the parasitic drain and harness gremlins of the past.
