Infiniti has revealed the Infiniti Concept Vision Gran Turismo, "a vision of what a high performance Infiniti could look like in the future." (As if.) At any rate, it was created through a close collaboration with the creators of Gran Turismo®, the racing game franchise developed by Polyphony Digital Inc. that has sold more than 72 million copies worldwide. The Infiniti Concept Vision Gran Turismo will be available for download starting today in Gran Turismo®6 (GT6™) exclusively on the PlayStation®3 system.
Pretty cool stuff, although the headless horseman must be the driver :)

No wonder I was confused. I spent the whole day wondering about how that could have evolved into the production EB110! :D

I'm guessing the Bertone-BMW Pickster was intended for the Australian market? And, John's right, it does look like a Pontiac, especially with the way they put the pointed emblem on the nose. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Ehmm... I've found a comment on CarStyling.ru, a man is saying, that he has still got some magazine issue from 1998 and there it's named as "Pontiac Pickster" which makes more sense. Maybe, BMW is only for the drivetrain.
It's really strange if Bertone brought a BMW-based car to GM and called it a Pontiac. :)

It looks as if Frua was involved in the design. The front end is pretty nice looking for the time, yet it has some brutal flavor of the 70s. A bit like DeTomaso Pantera and this Bertone-BMW I've never seen from the side view before... (Strange, how many cues landed in the Z3 from this '67 study)

Actually, there was a Plymouth Superbird, which I couldn't remember.
This has to be the origin for the frontend, and it also had pop-up headlights.

the Superbird & Dodge Charger Daytona were over the top cars for racing. Ford tried to follow with the King Cobra but was unable to get it approved.
Crazy times in racing at that time
