Yes, if the "roll hoop" were solid brushed metal and not interrupted in two places, the design would be a lot cleaner. The profile (side) view is refreshing and a bit old school. Other than the targa top hoop, I would have made the side air scoop twice as tall and half as long.
I like it very much... can't see the roof thingy in the profile view, so... Proportions seem A+ to me. The rear end is very nice. Kamm looks perfect there. The front fender vent could be toned down a bit, or deleted.
PTD, a design consultant group released their NAIAS trend report here. Some interesting tidbits. -F https://www.pdt.com/2018-auto-show-trend-report.html
Some of the details are a little off, like the one you mentioned and others. But at least they are trying something a little more bold than what Maserati currently puts out. It's like someone needs to wake up Maserati Design and tell them the aero jelly bean look has been over for a while. -F
This is an interesting synopsis of show trends and details. However, the actual execution didn't get it for me. Great concept, poor execution. The photos could have been much better. They zeroed in on some of the details without showing the surrounding surfaces, etc. But it is interesting.
Can someone explain why the Japanese can’t do red? Other than the Miata, I’ve yet to see a real red car. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Essentially there are two basic types of reds. Orange based and blue based. There have been studies as to which reds men v. women prefer. Ferrari is one of the 'masters' of reds.Lord knows they offer a number of reds. Alfa as well. Rossa Corsa v. Rossa Scuderia. Bluer v. orange based
What about Porsche’s Guard Red? Now, that’s a red. I dunno. To me, the Japanese always try to hard. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
is only one aspect since even the so called Rosso Corsa has been changed over the years. Some like the old 2006 Rosso Corsa better than it's RC replacement...
RS has always been a bit too orange for me. The original thinking was better visibility on TV for the race cars. Ferrari have so many different reds, they make it hard to choose.
Yes 2006 I believe was when they changed the color but that is not the only time. If you look at a Ferrari paint sticker you will often seen different numbers and suffix letters and even different paint suppliers over the years. Here are a few examples of the 'rosso corsa' paint.
