Oh dear. Does the online handle "Angry Car Designer" really suit his temperament? All the best, Andrew.
Companies need to be careful to avoid that the new person isn't leaving just before the ugly reality of what they did/didn't do becomes evident. In that case the person is never around long enough to get correctly blamed for what happened while they were there but is using each stop they made on their hyped up resume to get another advancement. Fast jumping around can also mean that they never actually carried a program all the way through from initial concept development to production. Sure calls for sleuthing that the HR department claims they are legally restricted from doing - finding people that worked with the person that will tell the truth. If the movement of designers in bringing in new experiences that expose the group to alternative viewpoints and processes then it can be good.
A little bit too busy for me with the odd lines everywhere, but it's a little cleaner and more cohesive than many other flame surfaced cars running around. All the best, Andrew.
Considering where Acura has been lately, this car looks pretty nice. It carries on the theme of the new RDX, which is pretty nice, and has ties to the 2016 Precision Concept.
Hmm, I like the way it looks long, but the emphasis on those front fender arches makes it look really front-heavy and keeps drawing my eyes there. I think it would look better if those were toned down a bit and the ones in the back emphasized slightly more...the mid dip and rear arches are much more interesting to me and I'd rather be drawn there.
Its fine looking but it uses all the same styling elements everyone else is using. get rid of that Acura badge and it could be a Honda or a Benz or a...
Makes me think of old Pininfarina sense of design - cohesive and well finessed through the transition of forms. I remember back in the day a philosophical difference between Pininfarina and Bertone with Gandini, Pf was doing things were not cutting edge but would continue to look good for a long time while Bertone's were interesting but regularly did not wear well. With this particular view, I wish that the fender line was a bit lower so that the upper did not look so squashed.
The center divider in the lower front bumper is not something we have seen before except for possibly the Toyota Supra center treatment. P's is more pleasing. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I somewhat disagree. I feel Acura and Mazda are using this form language. (Though Mazda is moving on from it and Acura is just getting to it). Mercedes, imo, does not. Mercedes uses more of the Hyundai form language.
Since we seem to be in somewhat of a posting lull in the thread right now, I thought I'd post this little click-bait nugget I came across a few days ago about retro styling. In this case of the Type 57 Atlantic, I don't think there are many ways to top the real McCoy. Warning to jm2: be sure you have taken your blood pressure meds before looking at the picture! I might be an anomaly here, but the Chrysler Atlantic looks quirky and fun rather than terrible to me. I actually quite like it. All the best, Andrew.
