they called Jason today. He called me. I said they
could do anything except dead stop launches.
We already know the halfshafts would break.Would they pay
    if they broke?
They said no and they would only test it if they could do this.

So paso robles...I understand things from their point of view.
They have to do things their way to sell magazines.

Performance launches right now with this clutch/stock halfshafts
    are certain to break parts.

Until we resolve this I'll just be content to
jump on it as soon as it is rolling

Thats so cool that they want to test your car. Id feel like honored to have my car in a mag and it doesnt hurt the resale value either.

They can go suck an egg. They just want to break your car so they've got a story to tell. And sell more magazines.

Kudos, to you, though, for building your car.

yea I know it would be an EGO stroke and help me sell my car
(it has in the past see below) but in this case I know it would break and that would be a negative factor plus my car would be down for repairs and
    my fun factor decreased enormously!

They break your car and wont pay. Then in the article they will bash it and say it's a piece of junk because it broke. I'd tell them to take a hike.

That would suck if they broke your car. But even if the halfshafts wouldn't break it would still suck, because we wouldn't be able to see it on tv since Car and Driver is no longer on the air.

If they want to test your car with their rules, they need to return your car the same condition as they took it.

I think the problem is that there have been several cases where they broke stuff and didn't pay up.

Contact Road and Track. Not only is it a much higher quality magazine, it's more respectful! Someone on here had their 550 tested by Road and Track and said they really appreciated the way they treated their car, which also explains why R&T is usually a little bit behind MT and C&D in their 0-60 times. Road and Track also offers a small explaination of how they handle the cars they test in the first few pages, I velieve.

I'm subscribed to the Big Three, and Road and Track has always been my favorite. Ask them to test, I'm sure they'd treat your car like it deserves to be treated.

How could they not pay for breaking your property? Is that legal? That's BS to me.

There are plenty more magazines you will find the cover of, without the need of destroying the car :)

few potential broken parts is tiny price to pay for massive free publicity, tuner should stand behind their products. Don't see Ruf or Pagaini turning down free publicity
