So after my flight was cancelled back to NY from Orlando i found a nice surprise at the resort that my team was put up at. The car has Texas plates. I understand if someone brought it down for vacation to drive but this car has not moved or been touched since we arrived Friday night. Based on other factors im gonna guess its been longer than that since its been driven. Im going to withold exact location for now. Im just more intrigued than anything to find out why.

Probably someone moving from Texas - staying at the resort until the mortgage on the
new place goes through. I'm just surprised it's not covered up.

Heres a tip to anyone thinking of using a U-Haul trailer like that.

They will ask you what kind of car.

If you say "Ferrari" they will say they cannot rent it to you. I guess they don't want that much liability.

tell them it is for a 1995 Camry or something.

Hmmm - that U-Haul is probably racking up over $50/day in extra day fees...

Could also be stolen - that piece of equipment should be sitting un-rented in Arizona as far as I can tell.

Why would they leave the hood open like that?

    Jeez.
I forgot where I left that car. Been looking for it for a few days, after that party... last thing I remember was the midget stripper showing up.

If you want you can rent a truck and drive it up to me, I'll reimburse you then

Hmmm, that's interesting. I wouldn't have thought the type of car you were pulling would have mattered to the rental guys. As you say, I suppose it's the liability.

That's what I wanted to know as soon as I saw the pictures. Any thoughts?

Obviously parking it outside on a trailer isn't the most secure arrangement... maybe he wants it to be snagged so he can collect on the insurance.

Actually, it's because it's not listed in their system. I tried to rent one to pull my Alfa and when the guy looked it up he said "Alfa Romeo is not listed, I can't rent it to you". So yes, I switched and said I wanted to tow my Honda Accord instead and it was no problem. It's not a liability issue at all.

    Thanks Uro.

Guaranteed the hotel management knows it is there so it must belong to a guest. Front hood does look bumped open a bit. I like the sport seats!

It shouldn't matter, It didn't matter when I rented one for my 308, but then again it's only a 308:)

I think it could well be a liability issue. They don't "list" cars that are unusual, expensive etc.

Ask the hotel how long it's been there.

Ferraris are listed thru model year 2005, Lamborghinis & Bentleys thru 2009, Rolls Royce thru 2010 in U-Hauls system - so it doesn't seem to be based on vehicle cost...
