Martin--very cool. Wouldn't mind one of those for my living room. The wife would kill me though.......
Is that the new method of parking on overcrowded streets in Miami? How did you do that, is the engine out of the car and only the shell is mounted, or are you playing magic tricks on us?
Is that a 355 Challenge grill hanging from the ceiling? Want to get rid of it? Let me know... After all, it might free up some more space to hang another from the ceiling.
no magic tricks. the car is a body of a 365GT4 2+2 that I bought as simply a body. Had a frame welded under it and it was scheduled to go on the wall for months. Finally I had my welder free for Friday since he did not have to go to Indy for the IMSA support race and bang, the car is on the wall. I actually cursed several times in the past months about the body sitting and taking up one parking space instead of hanging on the wall where is was supposed to be and where the brackets were for months now. Since it is up there is ....space!
That grill has a special history to it. You would not want that unless you collect highly "unusual" pieces. It is a home made Challenge grill of a 355 Spider that had 102,000 Miles on the clock, driven by a 84 year old gentlemen in Miami. On the original clutch and brake pads I may add....
I can see that, though she is very sweet and patient. I cannot believe she put up with us for that long. You have to bring her more often. Always good to have female blood with a high tolerance level of idiocracy!
Maybe he drove it really fast, but on long cross country trips where we seldom needed to use his brakes.
Yeah, she's a keeper. Not into the car thing but is very tolerant. She had a nice time yesterday, it was nice to get the family out of the house and together on a Sunday. It seems we've been neglecting that the past few weeks and so we have to do more of it. Now I just have to talk her into that 360....
The guy drove it weekly from Miami to South Carolina from there to Orlando and back to Miami. While you are driving on the highway your clutch gets no use and your brakes neither. The good news is, he had a smile on his face for 102,000 Miles and had virtually no service bills to speak of because the car was driven on a very regular basis. Bought the car for $150,000, sold the car 100,000 Miles later for $50,000, cost of depreciation: $1 per Mile Typical Ferrari: Bought the car for $150,000, sold the car 15,000 Miles later for $ 75,000, cost of depreciation: $5 per Mile Basically for $25,000 he had 85,000 Miles of smiles
That's awesome! So I guess the grill will stay on the ceiling. Great story. I'll be sure to remember this one while I'm racking up miles on my 355. Aside -- I wonder if he had "valve guide issues"
They are the best...absolutely love them. I have 4 We will be in Sebring this weekend with 3 of them.
well...I have a engine sitting in my office and a wheel coffee table. Does that count? Actually I have two engines (we are working on a third display engine) as well as a 308 transmission on display. Image Unavailable, Please Login
