Pretty sure that the 246 Dino didn't come with a radio all it had was an aerial and speakers fitted.

Correct! As far as I know.

Ferrari's of that era did not have a factory radio. It was installed by the dealer as an option, or by your favorite neighborhood car stero technician.

So, pretty much any Blaupunkt or Becker radio from that era would be a possibility.

This guy may be able to help.

    or this one.

    Ebay also has them regularly.

I have fit in a McIntosh that looks about right, but has all the modern conveniences.

Becker Mexico cassette radio was what went into the Daytonas, so I'd assume the same to be correct for a Dino. Shouldn't be hard to find on ebay as they went into a lot of Daimlers as well.

Becker Mexicos also have very handsome faceplates.

Quite right- the factory option was speakers/antenna, with the dealers installing the radio, if any.

My USA Dino has the Autovox Stereo R cassette player (made in Italy). This is the same manufacturer of the original antenna. My owner's pouch contains the original radio warranty, instruction booklet, and service center locations pamphlet. Based on my Dino Warranty card stamps, I assume my Dino was picked up in Europe. The delivery stamp is from the factory and the warranty B stamp is Auto Becker of Dusseldorf.

While in Italy last month at the auto swap meets, I noticed several stands selling Autovox radios. I purchased a NOS Autovox semi-auto antenna and installed per the photo. It works great. My original was removed by the previous owner and lost. Luckily, he still had the radio stored in the cupboards.

The previous owner since early 1973 said the radio was in the car when he bought it from the original owner.
