    Hi Guys
I am in Singapore, HK and hoepfully Taiwan in January (12th-21st) and would like to see some car stuff while I am out there.
I keep seeing pictures of massive exotic meets in HK and was wondering how often they occur and if it is possible for me to get along to one??
So what would anyone recommend for car based enjoyment then?
    Thanks
    Ben

Hi Ben, I'm HK based, and there's plenty to see here. I have a gts cheese grater we can do the rounds in if interested. Send me an email [email protected] Cheers Mike.

In HK, the exotic drives happen every Sunday morning. There are typically several different groups. You get a big Porsche group and around 2 Ferrari groups. I hang out with 2 groups usually, 1 with Porsche/Ferrari mix and the other one is even more mixed. One of the guys I hang out with sometimes has a Zonda, MC12, 512M, 575GTC, and a whole bunch of others.

Feel free to PM me when you are in town, though I am going to be away for quite a bit during Jan.

    Hi Mike!

I think our group passed you on the way into Luk Keng yesterday! You parked your GTS with the top down, and we saw your KGV parking permit... So...

    1. Was that you?
    2. Thanks for letting us through!

yeah hi Mark, you don't miss much. I was a bit shocked because you and your passanger both waved. So rare in HK. I just don't like to get in the way of other peoples fun and it's fantastic to watch the proccesion of exotics go by. I'm new to these runs but won't stay shy for long. Cheers Mike

    Hiya Mike,

The guys who waved were in the "Deep Purple" Turbo, and they commented over the 2-way radio how nice you guys were to let us through. I was following in the yellow turbo (with Singapore licence plates), with another F-Chatter "Jon@Tezta" riding shotgun.

I'll be sure to come by and say "Hi!" next time!

    Regards,

    MARK

    Hey man
I remember the UK thread, I am still shocked that a student can drive an Fcar! So what do you have in Singapore then? I will be there from 11th January onwards staying near Changi. We can hook up for a drink if you like!

    Ben,

if you are in Changi try to drop by Automobile Manufactur. If you don't know about this place i suggest going there and seeing a few cars you will never see anywhere else in the world.

Hi Mark (and Ben if your out there) I'm really new to Fchat so please be gentle. I've only just realised what a PM is and how to read it. Replying is still a mystery. When I went through school, universities had "1" computer so I figured I need't worry about them. I was wrong. I'm happiest with a spanner in my hand covered in muck. Then seeing if the work payed off. Mark, I spotted your Turbo a mile off. I'm a Porsche guy from way back. These F things are new to me and to be honest I'm not convinced yet. Half the car for twice the money? Ask me in an other six months. I would love to meet up with you guys. Is the Luk Keng run every sunday? You can't miss me, I'm the short fat bloke in the sickening Hawian shirt and shorts.(ooh and big nose)
By the way Ben, a cheese gratter is a 348. Go to your kitchen and get out a cheese gratter. Study its form and imagine its function. Look at a 348 and imagine washing it. You'll get it.

I was there on Sunday as well, but our group was late to the party. We had to park way up the road.

Mark, I saw you briefly but didn't have a chance to say hi. Is your Turbo a 993? I didn't notice the Singapore plate though.

Mike, your Porsche is the yellow one with top-down right?

    Bubba,

I saw your car parked up the street last Sunday. I was with mark in the 996 Turbo (yellow). There was a 993 turbo look parked behind us though.

Damn! What a shame! It would have been great to see you again! Oh well, perhaps next time.

That Singapore plate is hilarious. EVERY single policeman (and many other drivers and pedestrians) just stare at it wondering what is going on. There was one night when the police walked past, and then called his friend on his mobile to ask if it was possible! (I just walked past to eavesdrop, pretending to know nothing about the car).

    Hehehee...

Mike, actually, the Turbo isn't mine, but belongs to my Singaporean friend. He (and a few others) shipped his car to Hong Kong to participate in the Porsche Club HK Shanghai Drive. We had a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

I drive a 360 on the road, but after racing a GT3 RS in last August's Supercar Challenge in Zhuhai (and driving the same GT3 RS up to Shanghai), I'm seriously considering buying a Porker. They are just bullet-proof!

The Sunday Morning Drive (SMD) happens with our group almost every Sunday. I don't always go with the group, because they can get a bit wild sometimes (herd mentality?). I won't be there this Sunday, as I'll be playing golf in China. I'm sure Jon will come out and meet you guys though.

    Drive safe my friend!

Will you be in HK before Singapore? If so, we can meet up, and we can tell you exactly what you should do when you're there.

Base in Singapore with friends but will be in HK around the 15th-20th January or thereabouts. I am hoping to get to a Sunday drive out too. I have been told a few places to go by a friend who used to live there so should be a good start. I will PM you if that is OK when I have a bit more time to spare :D
