So I was wondering what are the price spike amounts that occur from fall/winter sale prices to pre spring/summer sales? I know that it all depends on buyer/seller situtation but with all things equal and seller not being in rush or finiacial situation where he has to dump car..Do prices rise 5-10 percent on average. I would think there are only a finite amount of quality cars out there that don't require major bucks into car immediately of cars that havent had accident repairs etc....

    Adam,
Are you trying to sell your beautiful 6-speed spider again? Wish I am in the market.

I have stated this before. I don't believe it will impact price significantly. A nice car will sell regardless of time of year. If I am looking for a 360 spider, 6 speed it probably will take me some time to find the one I want, so what difference does the time of year make. Yes, the ability to test drive could be a challenge, but there will always be a day for that to happen.

Your biggest selling objection is location. You have to convince someone your car is worth traveling to see and buy. This is where you are challenged as it is much more difficult with a model where there are plenty for sale everyday.

You have a beautiful car and if you are selling it I would not wait for better weather, you want to let the people who are in the market now know your car is available. Just saying.

I think it affects sale price more than advertised asking price.

If I were selling, I would be less inclined to take a lower offer in the spring months than if it was January. However if you over-advertise the price on your car to reflect the season, it would deter buyers I think.

I wasn't seeing bargain basement blowout prices during winter. If there is to be a tick up I bet it is hard to detect. Reason is that the cars are depreciating, there are a lot of them and more will show up each year for sale. I would think that a big rise in the economy might be a better thing to watch for than when the hedgehog emerges from his hole.
Still, if I were a seller and wanted to think about a spike and was selling a convertible I think you would want to get it on the market before Easter.
