Car show for High School Student (with maybe 2 weeks left to live)

I was contacted today about a Highlands Ranch teenager named Austin who unfortunately has maybe 2 weeks left of his life, and his dying wish is for a small car show and cruise to happen. He just turned 17.

Austin has a 71 Chevelle, and would like as many cars to get together at Thunderridge High School THIS SUNDAY the 3rd at 12:30 NO EARLIER as the school has church services that happen there on Sundays and we cannot interfere with their services. DONT WORRY there is plenty of parking do not show up early.

We wil show the cars from 12:30 to about 1:30 then maybe do an engine REV before we leave on a short cruise so he can maybe at least participate in the REV as he cannot drive any longer.

For the Highlands Ranch Hot Rodders, lets meet at Jack in the box in the Super Target lot on Lucent at say 11:30 and people can grab late breakfast or lunch then we can head over to Thunderridge at 12:20 or so.

I am passing this along to the Poor Boy cruisers and Harold so he can pass it along to the Chevelle culb as well, and hopefully we can get a good size gathering for Austin.

Please let me know if you can make it, and pass along to other clubs or car guys you can think of, and please make sure they also know not to arrive early.

Sorry you missed it Derek. Over 200 cars showed up with two days notice. I was the only f-car there. Austin came over in his wheel chair and checked out the car. Nice group of folks - everything from a 37 Chevy to the tuner crowd showed up.

 

Sad to report that Austin lost his battle to cancer.
