Sounds good.....we gfigure the wider the variety- the better the turnout. Should be sometihng for everyone tere1 And the weather is 100% clear skies and 74 degrees......couldnt' ask for a better day!!!
Doug.... So far the weather is looking to be excellent for the show! Anyone on the "north side"...... How bout' meeting at the Starbucks X13 at about 10am, and we can leave at 10:30 to head south? BobR
*****UPDATE***** 99x Radio station will be doing a live remote from 12-2PM the day of the show- so we are expecting a good number of cars for this event. This is going to be a good time for the whole family- we have trophies (all classes) and prizes that include gift certificates from Jospeh and Friends Hair Salon, Twisted Taco, Londzells Martini Lounge, LA Boxing, and a few others. We hope to see everyone out on Saturday...forecast is: Saturday ...Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 80s. Saturday night. . . Partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 50s. Should be perfect weather....!
So the radio ads are touting "tuners" and "hot rods" for this show....we need to make a decent showing of exotics...we can't be overshadowed by tricked out Hondas....see you all Saturday and Thanks again!.
Vince I may have to bring the 911. I wanted to bring the TR6 as it has been sitting for 2 months, but I couldn't get it started last night. I'm not getting any fuel to the carbs but will try / screw with it some more.
Doug...... Something came up for me I need to tend-to in the morning. I may still be able to get there about 1pm. (sorry bout' that) BobR
Just finished replacing a bad ignition coil and cleaning things up. I think my better 3/4 and I are ready to rumble. Ciao, George
You sound like Dr. Frankenstein!! I found the overall turnout disappointing but the turnout of exotics was impressive. Unfortunately the Ferraris were shut out of the awards. (Sounds like our Grand Prix season!)
What a glorious day for a car show! Not a cloud in the sky and low humidity. Even when it got hot in the afternoon it was never really uncomfortable. That's why I'm surprised the overall turnout wasn't greater. (Of course, I know why there were no Lotuses -- they were all, rightfully, at Barber.) Aside from Doug's Diablo roadster, the other Lambos were all dealer cars. The Jaguar E-type was a V-12 and is for sale by Ivan Ruiz, I believe for $27k. The Prowler in this set was one of the "pilot" cars -- the initial, pre-production batch, few of which survived the scrapper, making it rather rare. I just want to thank everyone who came out to 1st Annual Cops and Rodders Benefit for The Roswell Explorers. We raised alot of money for a great cause. I thank you all !
More photos, including my favorite car in the show, the gorgeous blue 1962 Olds F-85 Cutlass, the original Cutlass. (Like its similar top-end contemporaries, the Chevy II Nova, the Pontiac Tempest LeMans and the Buick Special Skylark, the name of the up-market model would eventually replace the base-model name, something GM has done often in its history.) How did you squeeze all of those giant trophies into your Lambo! My son and I had fun showing our favorite car...our Ford GT. Thanks for coordinating this fun first annual show! Rich

Hey Doug maybe you have some pull with the Roswell PD. Saturday am when I was driving to the show, they were running radar/laser on Holcomb bridge Rd just east of the shopping center with 1 car. They were running it again this morning about 7am when I was drivng to the office with 2 motorcycles in the same place. Can you give them a list of cars to give some leniency to?
I'm sure they are familiar with the cars that were there....they took notice. Funny thing was my friend was driving the Viper Mamba up GA400 and got a warning...yes a warning- after he was clocked at just under 145mph....and that was Georgia State Patrol. They were aware of the show, and figured we'd be running a few cars that day. Just keep it under triple digits while in Roswell - you shouldn't have any problems..LOL!! Yeah i wonder if they have a "Do not Ticket" list...I'd love to register for that one as well!
