Greetings, Sold the house rather unexpectedly and need a place to store my 348 for the winter. Anybody have any leads on a place, would prefer something in NJ no more that 20 miles from the Jersey City/Hoboken area. Cheers, RC
my uncle has a 6 car heated climate controlled garage in oakland right off of 287 if that is of any interest to you. i think we might be keeping the lamborghini and ferrari there for few weeks too. PM me if your interested
The stable is across the street from the Gladstone Train station. About an hour and 20 minutes from Hoboken by train. I live around the corner so I'd be happpy to take the car out once a month to see what kind of fluorocarbons that thing puts out at ninety-five.
Ha ha ha. Actually NJ is the place that powerful NY'ers use to get away from the craziness and into our serene country splendor! ;-) Hence yes, folks store their "good" stuff in NJ...
I never buy gas in NJ, since attendants usually don't have a clue how to fill the tank and they harass you and threaten to fine you thousands of dollars if you try to fill it yourself. Just another reason not to do Jersey.
TAKE THE CIGARETTE OUT OF YOUR MOUTH BEFORE YOU TRY TO PUMP GAS BRO! Seriously though, where are you going to pump gas? I NEVER let any attendant pump my gas and they respect that because of the cars I drive. I would think this especially true with the 550...most of the attendants are afraid to touch these sort of vehicles.
I'm basing what I said on a few annoying experiences at randomly selected Mobils and Sunocos in NJ. Perhaps not the norm, but happened more than once. And I don't think I looked like a fire hazard... They also didn't actually threaten to have me fined (that was printed on the pumps) but they did insist on trying to pump it themselves. Which didn't work too well since the pump kept shutting off way, way early if they set it to go pump to fast, or they once put it on a slow setting where it took 30 minutes to fill the tank and then didn't shut off as a pool of gasoline collected around my car.
Yeah, I use to pump gas in college. We were told there was a law forbidding pumping your own in NJ & our insurance company had kiniptions (sp?) if they found us letting customers do it. But generally, I don't have a problem pumping my own. Especially when the attendants give up trying to find the cap, hidden on a 308.
I usually pump my own gas and leave my car running, if anyone ever says something i just drive to another station, but its RARE that anyone says anything
