Apologies on the delay. Mine is also an American custom lift like Rob’s. I see you have already reached out to them (highly recommend company and lift). The only thing I would add is make sure you hire a company to come out and x-ray your floor. That company can then map out where any post tension cable or rebar are located. The lag bolts that go into the concrete are quite deep and the last thing you want to do is hit post tension cable! It’s also important that you have the right density concrete and they can test for that too. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
My main suggestion is if you go with a 4 post, make sure it’s wide enough, if it’s like the Bendpak. Mine was “almost” too narrow because of the way the runways are attached !!! I was fortunate enough to have my garage made big enough while building the house. High enough for car stacking & extra thick floor for bolting the lifts down as needed. The 4 post isn’t bolted down, so moving it around has been done. These pictures are from 13 years ago, but I believe they’re self explanatory. Good Luck with your future setup and if I can answer any questions, feel free to ask. i think bend pak modified their ramps so they dont hang down so far. too far down makes driving another car underneath impossible. i modified my ramps.
Bend pak ramps are so damn heavy, I just use Race Ramps Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
you have a CGT now too? Congrats! I remember when you would often post on the Aston forums, still have mine (12.5 years later) Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Try something different. I’d you have the roof height go for an Omer tri stacker lift. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I had a lift supplied and fitted by these guys (SJR) 10 years ago......still brilliant. Got the 4 poster. Since then I have installed 2 more 4 posters and a 2 post Cascos solid ramp parking lift (Ebay bargain at £900....cost new now £10k)
Yessir, thank you! Awww I haven’t been on 6speed for some time. I daily a Vanquish! Bendpak in action… Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
hi, sorry for reviving this older post, may I ask what Triumph model you have? I am considering too and have a 360 spider to fit in it. I was looking at the Triumph NSX-8XLT and seemed to clear on paper in terms of width but you make a good point. Thanks
Triumph NSS-8 (8000 lb) works for my 360. I don't even see a point in going to the larger like XLT etc unless you need to get some large SUV on or under the lift. The only thing is that there is not much room with NSS-8 between the mirrors and the cables/posts so you either need to drive carefully or fold the mirrors.
Got it, thanks so much! That helps a lot, I think I'll get that one then! Any issues since you got it? I plan to use it to store the car mainly and maybe once a year some fluids and little things like that.
The only issue was a nut coming off from lock release bar - once when the car was going down one of the corners did not unlock and the car tilted. I've put Loctite on the bolts after that. Like with any lift it's good to watch that the car goes up and down level and stop immediately/reverse if that's not the case. It's rated at 20A at 110V but you need 30A 110V not to trip the breaker.
Try to get the aluminum ramps for it. The steel ones gotta weigh 40 lbs each. I’m happy with the lift too, except for the weight of the ramps. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
True, the original ramps are very heavy, so I never attach them to the hoist but they are permanently on the ground behind the hoist, and I drive over them that way.
That won’t work for me, they’ll be in the way. I’ve been thinking about just ponying up for the Race Ramps, which are very light and won’t bang into my shins or feet when I’m carrying them. Race Ramps makes loading ramps specifically for 4 post lifts. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I’ve had 2 AC lifts and happy with them both (4500 and 6500 versions). The first one was ordered in 2020 and ended up being like $10k less than the 2022. Hard pill to swallow but happy with the outcome. I have a rather tall ceiling (13ft) in a 2-car garage and was really hoping I could fit the truck under it in case of extreme weather. Just barely. Most of the time it’s my wife’s X7 under it which has tons of room. If I move again, I’m taking it with me this time! Update for the folks in this conversation: I got the triumph nsx8 and it looks great. I will say the front plates are too high for the front bumper of the 360, so once installed I removed them and cut them to make sure the bumper wouldn't hit them in case I go too forward (see picture attached). Other than that, I agree with modificator, it's pretty tight but just being careful it works perfectly! Image Unavailable, Please Login
