If you want to tow a non trailex enclosed trailer, then you really want a diesel 3/4 ton pickup. I started with a tahoe and an open trailer, then a 24' enclosed with a suburban, and finally a diesel. It's the normal progression, and you see it over and over. Now that I have the diesel I would never ever go back. Sure, you can tow a big trailer with a smaller truck, but when you get into a sticky situation, it's unsafe, like the above poster says. It's the tail wagging the dog, and do this long enough, and you will experience that fear of death feeling.

I have friends that pull with Cayennes, BMW diesels, etc, and they used either trailex or featherlite open trailers, and they are a fantastic combination.
