Hi, do any of you have any experiences, recommendations or references about getting a Ferrari transported from the UK (preferable from Newcastle or Harwich) to Spain (southern Spain - near Malaga or Marbella) ? - I'd prefer a closed transport if possible Kind regards, Dennis
I used this firm:- http://www.ajautomotive.com/prestigecars.asp They were quick, professional and cheaper than the others that quoted.
If you don't want to drive it your pretty much stuck with shipping it (do they even do the cars on trains thing (apart from the tunnel) anymore?) I've used www.yalogistics.co.uk with pretty good results, my contact is Martin Ward in their head office, Martin's now quite adept at dealing with fussy Ferrari owners
Albert V8 recently had his Dino sent to Italy from the UK - same idea and I guess the firm would also do Spain - try pm'ing him
15hn - I did use ajautomotive's 'get quote' form before posting here and haven't received a reply yet - but I'll try contacting them directly I've also received a quote from www.anchorvehiclelogistics.com - it appears they have weekly transports between the UK and Marbella and also have experience with transporting exotics thanks again! Dennis
I used yalogistics too they were very good with me gave me a quick reliable cheap service without any hiccups or faults and they taylored themselfs to my every need and whim if I was going to do it again I would definatly use them
Its quicker to call but they will respond to your email/online quote form. Let us know who worked out cheaper.
so far ajautomotive's offer is the cheapest (their webform apparently had a problem but they got back to me very quickly after emailing them) - I've just written yalogistics - I had kinda gotten the impression that they only did shipping by boat - and I have a friend that have had a bad experience with non-monitored boat transportation (nothing to do with yalogistics) - and I prefer the transport to be without 'reloading' in transit and in a covered environment. But I'll see what yalogistics comes up with again, thanks for the feedback - always nice to get recommendations from others that have experience with a service! - Dennis
Dennis they also do Containerised shipping.......they don't even have to drive the car into the container, attached is a pic taken yesterday when I sent a Dino via YA off to the other side of the planet!......and yes I did drive the thing into the container, and must go on a diet as it was a bugger to get out! LOL @ Andy ;-) andrewg: thanks - YA is working on a quote for me (they just inquired about the dimensions of the car) - I'll post when I get the quote..
Dennis I sent a car from London to Malaga, paid I think £600. They were not great in that the car was actually scratched on arrival so on that basis I would not recommend them. They were called Cars to Spain. I have heard good things on A&J Automotive. Would it be possible to PM me what they are charging, I am thinking of sending my car up to the UK for a service later in the year. Do you live in Spain? I am in Gib. Also you are so much better sending it by road, shipping is a nightmare, customs clearance etc...
Call Matt of 'Unitruc'. http://www.unitruc-european.com/speccarlanding/spectptlanding.php I have no trouble recommending them to anyone. Price and Service were both excellent!!! Just don't invite their driver in for Tea, you'll never get rid of him Only joking Image Unavailable, Please Login
thanks Albert! - I'll check up with them as well! - the transport picture looks good! (but your car would make any picture 'good' of course!)
a small update: A&J: £850 + vat anchor: £1000 + VAT YA: £3600 + vat (I think someone is trying to earn money for a Ferrari him/herself here - I still need to check with Unitruc which Albert recommended, and a fellow fchatter (who needs similar transportation) is checking if 2 cars would get a discount with anchor Have a great weekend!
yes, it does seem a bit crazy - I've written them back to make sure it isn't a mistake, but the PDF file sent to me with the quote does say £3600 (and £3900 for transport from Denmark to Spain) - maybe it is a 'copy/paste' error on their part... (I'm glad to hear that you got a better 'deal' on New Zealand ;-))
Are you going to be keeping your Ferrari in Marbella or some other part of Spain? Also, which one are you bringing over, the Modena or the CS?
