With any car not just a ferrari, what do you prefer to do. Wash the car at one of those automated gas station car washes, or go to the coin operated place and wipe the car down your self?

I take my daily driver Jeep to a hand car wash for $12. They always, ALWAYS, miss a spot, do an uneven job on the wheels and spray on all sorts of harsh chemicals to get it really clean. But it looks great until you really get up close and look. I lease it, so as long as it looks great for 3 years I don't lose sleep over it.

Gas station car washes use grit-trapping brushes and are going to put hairlines into your paint everytime. I never use them, except when I had $3000 beater cars for the winters back in Ohio (have since moved).

For cars that I care about, I park them on my own driveway, hand wash them top to bottom with plenty of water and blot (never rub) them dry with old cotton towels. For a Ferrari, or P-car, or something that matters to you, hand washing is a labor of love. I even hand wax those. No one does a better job than the owner ;-)

A leaf blower is great for drying your car you love and doesn't leave swirls or rub grit into the paint.

The thing about Calgary Alberta is that it is illegal to wash your car on the street. The soap and chemicals wash into the storm sewers and get into the water system.

At home, by hand with the garden hose in the driveway.

If you can't wash it yourself at home, find one of those quarter-driven car washes and carry a few buckets and your washing stuff down there with you. Pay a couple of bucks to use their water and rinsing hoses and such, and hand-wash it yourself down there.

Don't use the scrubbing brush, that thing is guaranteed dirty and will scratch.

(the advice is worth what you paid for it -- I'm notorious around here for always having "the dirty Ferrari" :D)
