Ok...so I'm in the final stages of running my 246 engine after a top end rebuild...seems to be looking pretty good but I don't have carb set up equipment.....but something's not right..
Whilst engine ticks over at maybe 1500 rpm I cover each choke one at a time and the first one sucks good and dampens rpm as expected....onto the middle one, and same thing...on to the last one nearest the front pulley and it doesn't dampen regs much at all and I can in fact cover both chokes and the engine runs more or less the same...
Checked both compressions and about 125 as are the others.....

Next step will be for me to swap around a working carb with the not working very well carb to see if it's the carb itself...but..what else might it be ...

I did not change any jets or settings since before the rebuild , just cleaned them out....
Anyway any comments always welcome ....other than get somebody who knows what he is doing to take alook at it ....!!!!

    Thanks

i'll bet your linkage is off….search here for post by Jim Selevan on how to set up carbs…it all starts with the linkage…nothing works properly if the linkage is improperly set up
