okay guys, i've mocked up the carbs onto the manifold but cannot seem to get them to work together. i called and talked to ferrari parts exchange thinking that possibly the wrong ones were orderd but they say the correct series i.e. 1~4 were ordered. i have attached pics, so somebody may point me in the right direction. the left bank works fine, the right well.... You have 2 left front carbs and I can't tell what were the right one came from with that linkage arangement - All you need todo is call Pierce Manifolds or any weber supplier. The parts you need are one adjustable linkage coupler. Just do a mirror image of the left bank to be correct. You might have to build one from multiple pieces. - It would be simplest to just find a good used one or see if you can buy a new from a ferrari parts supplier. ie. T. Rutlands. If I could find my digital camera I would take a photo for you. Maybe someone else can. JF
You don't have all the linkages hooked up. Where is the lower turn buckle linkage and the rear linkage b/w 1_2 and 3_4 ??
these are new unused carbs, cost me a pretty penny. would like to get this sorted. i'll try pierce and t.rutlands, but how in the world do i know what i'm asking for?
FerrariUK Classic Parts has the diagrams on a CD......they sent me one. Or someone can post a pic......trouble is, my air boxes are on my two cars....
But you also need the right "series" to have a hardware set on the ends of the throttle shafts that will work together for the linkages. For example, a '78-'79 US 308 uses 72/73/74/75 and some other 40DCNF series are shown in the attached table. There should be a two digit number stamped into the flat side of the bowl area on each carb -- is there any such series markings on yours? (I did note that they are the proper 5-bolt top cover 40DCNF for a 308). You'll still need to get a complete hardware set, but maybe knowing what you have might help in deciding what to seek. 91tr, you tha man! that list helps me know what i have. i recieved 45 &46 but also 35 & 38 niethier set works together as the jetting is all wrong. now to get it striaghtend out.
looks like i'm on the search for numbers 36&37. apperantly the earlier dino carbs are jetted better for performance among other things. according to weber the '30' series is physically different from the '40' series - refering to the last two digits.
