Hi guys, Im fairly positive I know the answer to this question but just for ****s and giggles I’ll ask it. Is there a source for carbon body parts in the US? Euro spares in the UK does not reply to my inquiries, plus shipping or buying from over seas etc is getting more complicated by the day. The guys that are building my seats in the Netherlands are helping but its still a shipping hassle. My front fenders need to be painted and Id rather just replace them and my hood with painted carbon parts (348/355). Id also do a set of 348 carbon bumpers. Especially if there was a source in the US. I know not much of a market here but thought id just make sure, lots of knowledge here. Thanks in advance

I had custom front fenders made in carbon, but they are embossed for shields.

I had a custom engine cover made for my Esprit about 12 years ago. It came out stunning and, if I recall, was a non-destructive process. Obviously I had to ship them the factory cover to make a mold. These days they might just scan and print a mold. Anyway, there are boutique shops out there that do this, but the level of effort and cost is high.

Do you wan nice ones — pretty exposed weave - or light ones? That would drive my decision.

Superformance composite body panels are pretty low quality stuff. More appropriate for beater race car stuff where quality is secondary.

For fenders, that will probably just mean they need more prep work and fitting before they are useable.

For a hood it could definitely be more of an issue. You don't want it to flex or warp and show gaps. What type of internal structure are they using?

For fenders, if not built correctly, you might save merely 1lb per side.

Ask them to weigh it with pics on a scale.

And if they don't fit will would end up even heavier if using body filler in an attempt to fix.

Not fit well or wavy… body filler/primer … there goes your weight savings.

Problem with my embossed fenders is you need to buy shields, which aren’t exactly cheap.
