Wow! Does anybody have them? What are your thoughts?
They look very nice, but are not 100% functional as they show foot prints too easily, and once they are worn the resin tends to cloud. We have similar options available at a much better price - have you seen this thread? http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/458-italia/394515-458-italia-carbon-edition-custom-floor-mats.html
The factory CF mats are garbage. I bot a set for my new 2012 and in 6 months had them replace 2 times. The thin layer of silicon coating wears off easily where your heel touches and after a short while, the spot looks like its decaying. They scuff easily as well so you end up w unsightly visible scratches even from gentle usage. The first set I had also had a problem where the metal 458 Italia lettering fell off. All in, not a high quality accessory and quite disappointed that ferrari allowed this quality of product out the door. Eventhough the dealer made it right by taking them back, quite disappointed that Ferrari is still selling them.
Yes the Ferrari versions are more an aesthetic modification vs a functional accessory. Our Carbon edition mats have the uppers in leather - perfect for comfort and easy padding on the heels while providing excellent wearing characteristics. The the carbon hybrid style material gives the exact look and feel of carbon - also with great wear and durability. And they are a fraction of the cost! Here are some pictures of the latest versions of these mats. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
