A quick kudo to André Pouliot at Kaza Automotive ! I ordered carbon fiber sills for my 348 to replace the scratched, dented, beat-up ones that looked 15 years old. They arrived today, and took about 1 hour to install.

The quality is simply outstanding; the finish is gorgeous; the look is great; and the service/communication/care displayed by Andre was wonderful. The sills arrived wonderfully packed, and went on the car smoothly. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend his work if you're in the market for carbon fiber parts.

    Some installation findings?

    1. My old sills were not properly screwed in -- they were automotive-grade sticky taped onto the car. No biggie, just an observation.

    2. I needed to remove the lower door seal (just pull the rubber out of its track) to remove the old sills.

    3. Pull, pull, keep pulling with smooth force -- the old sills will come out, but they'll get pretty trashed in the process.

    4. My black sills had a red primer underneath. Wasn't there a thread about that red primer a few months back?

    5. The rubber "Ferrari" strip fits fine into Andre's carbon sills

    6. I attached the new sills with automotive grade tape -- using screws just seems like a recipe for over-zealous torque, which leads to cracked/ruined parts. Tape works fine.

    7. Spay adhesive was used to attached the rubber Ferrari script.

    8. Andre's sills have the downward-lip, unlike some other carbon fiber sills available through Fchat sponsors. It's a matter of preference I suppose.

Great job Jack! Looks good. I have thought about this for my 348 too. Can I ask how much they cost?

    Ken -

I think they were $450, delivered to my doorstep via International UPS. I believe Andre makes them "per customer", so the construction time was about 2 weeks, delivery time to North Carolina (from Quebec) was 3 days. Well worth the money.

Best part of all?? When I opened the quadruple-packed box, I was greeted with a wonder wafting smell of laquer ! Made the whole office smell like a body shop. Folks came wandering in from all corners to see what I got :)

Since January, my "upgrades" have been:
    1. Billet aluminum pedals
    2. Aluminim shift knob
    3. New OEM ashtray and surrouding trim
    4. New spring-hinged radio cover
    5. Carbon Fiber sills
    6. Chrome cavallino for front grill
    7. Oil, filter, plugs.
    8. Tear down of all instruments and clean/polish plastic lenses.

The car runs like a raped ape... no need for anything too mechanical (yet!).

    Hi Daniel,
It's been a while since you put the carbon onto.
    How about now?
I also got a 92 348ts with the same problem you used to have.
Can you tell me about the result?

The result? PERFECT!! Ever time I get into the car, I see them -- and that big slab of carbon fiber just makes me smile! They don't seem to be too scuffed (yet), and I don't miss the crappy alumnimum ones at all !

Really, Andre's work (Kaz Automotive) is terrific.

    Daniel,

That really does look fantastic! I'm a big fan of the carbon fiber accessories in f-cars now. I'm not sure if anyone makes them for 328's but I'll be in the market eventually.

Great look, Daniel! I'll be ordering a complete set from Andre. I've just changed my steering to a Momo with Carbon fibre inserts which will match. I'm thinking very very hard to "upgrade" to a 355 rear grille from [email protected] for my 348. It costs US$1995 & is made in carbon as well. There was a thread on this sometime ago.

I'm a little amazed this thread is still going 2 months later. But here are some pictures I took today.

BTW, I am TOTALLY sold on Meguires NXT Tech Wax. With microfiber to buff it off, I'm convinced I'll never buy another bottle of Griots. Sorry Richard -- on black, the NXT just kicks butt.

    Jack,
Thanks for supporting Andre. Your comment about the high quality of his work is exactly what I've been saying for the entire time I've had the pleasure of working with him on setting up the 348 carbon fiber kit. He is truley a gentleman and takes great pride in his work. He'd love to be a F-Chat sponsor, but as I've said before; he's a very small business so far and is still in the early stages of establishment. Hopefully, he'll grow to the point where he will be able to afford sponsorship.
Yes, he makes his Ferrari carbon fiber parts per order, by hand. It is very time consuming but he turns out a great product. My car is full of his work. I've got 12 pieces of his carbon in my car!
This is more of his work:
