    Hi Folks,

I was wondering if any of you knew the material for the Lusso transmission shaft... If it's made of steel, are any carbon fiber aftermarket options available?

As it's a transaxle design, that shaft spins pretty fast and needs to accelerate/slown down very quickly as engine revs. So I would think a lighter version would add to the engine responsiveness (not that it lacks much of it though...)

It is an aluminium hollow tube shaft. Not much can be shaved off.

You can always rip it out and send it to Mark Williams. I'm sure they can make a CF shaft.

Problem with the CF shaft in this power range is that you will gain a lot of strength but not lose a lot of weight. Most aftermarket CF shafts can take insane amounts of power, but they are not easy to scale down. At some point, aluminium becomes a better choice and that is the case for the Lusso. If you were making twice the power, CF in a heartbeat, but not for 69p hp
