Any smooth cotton cloth. I use my old 100% cotton T-shirts for cleaning cars.....best material for cleaning.

Mild car soap, (non alkaline) and water, rinse, followed by clear-coat safe Carnauba or non abrasive wax preferably w/o cleaners. Basically, the same way you care for the painted surfaces of your car.

 

Just use an instant detailer with a soft microfiber/cotton cloth. Remember the CF is usually clear coated (just like your paintwork).

 

Most carbon parts are finished with clear urethane. Essentially treat it just like the paint on your car. You can wax it and even use polish to get fine scratches out.

 

I just took receipt on a 430 Spider...I've got carbon fibre in the dash and the lower extremities of the car
(option)...I heard that I might have to be careful with sunlight as it can "yellow" the carbon fibre.

Any thoughts or opinions...thanks in advance!

I've got CF all over my F430, including exterior parts. No issues with sunlight and in my part of the world, we do have a strong sun.

Ofcourse, I don't bake my F430 in the sun .

 

Yellowing is normally a function of poor quality clear coats that are deteriorated by the UV of the sun and change colour. The better clears do not do this at all and you will have nothing to worry about with your OEM interior parts.

 

Actually, I have seen a number of stock CF parts badly deteriorated from UV exposure. I am not sure about 430 interior parts, but man, the F50 I saw the other day sure looked bad!
