Drove a California and fell in love with the LED steering wheel...wondering if all 430's have the wiring in place already behind the existing wheel, and it's just a plug and play option -- or if only 430's with this option from the factory were wired for it

I also would be very interested in this, infact I may call my dealer tomorrow.

One thing worth mentioning however is, didn't only the Scuderia have this, not the F430, with a different manitino, I fear the awnser is no, but then, isn't the 599 wheel the same as F430 but with option for LED???

    I don't know...

I was bored so called my dealer. The answer was 'no' but I think that was just them being lazy... Surely it's possible, just a matter of cost.

Interesting question. I checked the electriconic schematics of the F430 and could not find any wiring or connector for such LED application. I think the electronics must be integrated in the LED itself and connected to the Wheel Node Ecu (M037-NVO) which is part of the B CAN network. Through the B CAN network, the Wheel Node Ecu is able to receive info like engine revolutions. So, I imagine that this signal can be forwarded to the LED ECU. IMHO, I believe that we have to deal with a specific steering wheel and not the standard one.

    M037-NVO pinout:
    01 B CAN-A
    02 B CAN-B
    03 Ground
    04 +15
    05 Horn
    06 Alternator warning light
    07 -
    08 Start-up repetition prevention
