You're so quick to name-call. Amazing. I'm not turning on FerrariChat - but it's not the same place I found five years ago. And while you have thousands and thousands of additional users since then, I would hardly call that an evolution. You've had a hard on for me for a while, but that's not even the issue here. Art brought up a very good point about banning certain people while others are free to roam and cause trouble. DM even told me, over the phone that morning, that he was going to but everything to rest. After he hung up, he did the exact opposite. There's definitely a double standard here.

I strongly disagree. Your memory has faded, just go back in time and view some your own posts. How about Art vs. MM, Nibbles, Ed Gault, JRV, and even Bruce at times. The community was small, but the headaches were 10 times as large. There are still problems and we still need improvements, that is obvious, but considering the community is 10 times larger our evolution of rules, moderating, and cleaning house has resulted in huge improvements.

Only reason you would turn on us now is for competitive reasons or many of the names here that were once your close personal friends have been burned and you don't feel as welcome.

I've never had a hard on for you, I've accepted you for what you were from day 1. I never let the fact you were passionate and told great stories cloud the fact that sometimes you were just a fowl mouthed brat trouble maker. We all have good and bad, I don't accept anyone's opinion towards you that is one sided because I know there is another side.

Well, lets not be hypocritical, you should have been perm banned years ago for the stuff you did based on your logic. Funny how this only comes up when it suits yourself.

I think the key fact here from my administrative point of view is that I don't micro manage the moderators. They are most familiar with the forums, users, and threads they are moderating. I offer input. This one was straight forward for me as Dave was in phone communication with you and you instructed him to leave the thread open and let you defend yourself.

    What's the issue?

The headaches were proportionate to valuable, Ferrari-related content at the time, as well. That same content is nearly impossible to find on here these days.

I haven't "turned" on you or the forum, and my feeling welcome or unwelcome has nothing to do with it. As for "competitive reasons", I can only assume you're referring to my current employer - but that doesn't make any sense at all since we're not "competing" with you.

I was the only consultant who had to be voted a consultant. You've banned my Web address via the profanity filter. What gives...?

And if I should've been perma-banned years ago, then how come I never was...? In fact, I've never been banned a single time. Not once, not even for a day. Never. That's a far cry from "you should have been perm banned years ago".

LOL, the "truth" comes out...! I never "instructed" Dave to leave the thread open so I could defend myself...! Dave specifically asked me not to post anything else, anywhere else, regarding that topic, because he wanted to quell the whole thing. He said he was going shut it down. This is not the first time Dave's played both sides of the field to optimize turmoil. If coming here less and less because of stuff like THAT means that I've "turned", well, then, what can I say...?

Well this certainly got interesting, it seems a long time since my first post here which was in response to a thread of Carbon's. The board has changed a lot since then and though it sometimes takes a bit of getting used to I think the basics are still sound. There is a huge group of users who still love to talk about Ferrari's and learn, young enthusiasts can still converse with crusty old experts. Owners of all demographics can still join up and can search for information on almost any subject.

    Some people sure have changed.....

For what my $.02 is worth, I think that Carbie is focusing largly on the double standards that are very apparent on the board (I don't need to go into old posts about My questioning of this), mainly with how the Mod's do their job. If that's the way things will always be, then Carbie (Myself and others) will have to suck it up. Personally, I don't think things will change regarding this, as you probably don't have the time to get all the Mod's on the 'same page' (and that's cool) as to how they treat member's 'C' vs. 'D' vs. 'E', etc. Respect (to how you run things) needs to be given by all that use your board, but (IMO) balanced treatment to all should be a goal for FC during 2008 :)

You can only blame yourself. I would have been happy just smoking cigars and having a few beers but you insisted on going to that wine tasting. I'm not sure where you even have room to talk either, selling the Viper and getting all domesticated. Why don't you change your name to "Bowling League Champ"?

I won't pretend to wonder whether or not that's directed at me. I know it is, and I'm sorry. My life has changed a lot in the last few years and I'm not the same person I was back then. In some ways, that's great; in other ways, not so much. In the rat race, we tend to lose sight of the more important things, and that's no one's fault but my own.

If I could roll above a 130 I would ask Rob to change my name. Maybe I should change it to fast bowler.

Yes that day, the day of the wine tasting will live in infamy as the day that Mark's world changed. I remember it as if it was yesterday.

It's directed at a lot of people really...... it's nothing personal either, things change.

I wouldn't worry too much about your bowling score, you are probably the biggest "roller" in the San Antonio group. Well, at least you are the only one who always has a bowling ball in the trunk.

You are one to talk! Did you find out if a baby seat will fit in the back of a Mini yet?

That is ridiculous to even say. I know the type of stuff you like, go visit Vintage, go visit the Super Ferraris forum and honestly tell me that. I just took the risk at my own disappointment of going to the New Posts functionality that shows the 50 most recent threads in almost all the forums.

Only about 5-10 threads are completely OT and they are still interesting subjects like "Negotiation Tips" and "ID Theft" in the Business and Investments forum. I mean there are 40 solid threads on Ferrari events, trips, cars, racing, tech, and etc. The only threads I would consider crap are maybe this one and the Noah Banned thread.

Carbon, you simply have a prejudice eye these days.

It isn't your web address, simply the company you work for and a policy I have for all sites like that and thus there are dozens blocked in the same way. What makes the site you work for special to get an exception?

Exactly, the same freedoms we gave you are what you are asking we take away from others.

I'm not learning at the same rate I once was. And I feel like I see a lot more irrelevant threads. Maybe you're right; maybe I have a prejudiced eye these days. Maybe I've lost my sense of humor for the lighter threads. I'll concede to that. When I first came here, there wasn't a lot of beef and there were a lot of informative threads. I was a know-nothing back then and couldn't appreciate any of that content. Maybe I should just surf the archives when I come here.

Why block them at all...? Why block flicker...? I won't tell you how to run your site, but some of the decisions you make - decisions that affect the community - make me wonder.

I'm not asking you to take away anyone's freedoms. I'm not looking for any double standards. If you want to ban me for past transgressions to level the playing field, that's fine.
