    A word of warning
I am currently running my 488 without a front plate I liked the look of one of these
    http://carbonio.com/performance/bran...latemount.html
Coughed up the £270 on 18th May , as of today the mount has not arrived , I have emailed them many times with the same excuse that Fedex have lost it and they are waiting to hear back .
I have made it clear the lost shipment is between them and Fedex and they need to send me another mount asap , still no confirmation .
Matercard have informed me I can apply for a refund after 30 days for failure to supply and the item is insured for 120 days so deadline is by the end of this week for delivery , I have told them this .
Poor customer service , thankfully I paid on a credit card.

Although these things are thankfully rare, we typically like to deal with any customer concerns discretely and in private. The existence of this thread and the contents of the OP’s post, however, deserve a public reply.

Spice V8 ordered his plate bracket on May 18th (a Sunday) and it shipped the following day with an invoice and tracking number provided same day.

This past Thursday, June 8th we were notified by the customer that his goods had not yet arrived. An immediate call by us to FedEx revealed a problem that we have never encountered in over 15 years in business. We were told that Fed had the box but that the contents were misplaced.

On June 9th (Friday) the buyer was e-mailed, informed of the problem, and was asked for a few days to figure out what was going on before a replacement was sent.

On June 12th (the following business day) we e-mailed the customer that we would be sending him a replacement but let him know again that we would need a couple of days to confirm the loss of the first item. We do this so that the customer does not end up getting 2 packages in case the first one is found. The response we received amounted to “get it out on 48 hour delivery, or I am calling my credit card company”

June 13th (this morning) the customer’s replacement bracket was awaiting FedEx pick-up. Before we’d had a chance to send a tracking number, this thread appeared.

Basically 2-3 business days start to finish from the time we were informed of a problem, investigated, and arranged for a replacement to be sent all while maintaining almost daily communication with the customer to let him know what we were doing on his behalf. Also please bear in mind that the customer is in England thereby adding a natural delay due to the different time zones.

I will leave it to the reader to decide if under these circumstances the OP’s post calling into question our reputation and credibility as a vendor is warranted.

Carbonio I appreciate your response and your private email confirming of the shipment of a replacement plate mount .
While your public response is not 100% accurate I have the desired response .

Mods please delete this thread as the dispute appears to have been resolved, it will be unfair to Carbonio to be seen in a negative way.

In defense to Carbonio I NEVER had an issue with their customer service. Like any business they must watch their backend as well not to get burned. Carbonio is very reputable. Period.

I'm not even a customer of Carbonio, but when I had a question about my OEM carbon fiber rear diffuser they were extremely helpful and informative.

I don't want to add fuel to the fire, on this, and what we are talking about here is customer experience not product or price etc..

From a customer experience point of view, I am with the OP..... if the part was shipped and there was an issue with the shipping and the shipper paid for insurance, then the best way to have won the customer over here would be to have been send a new mount by the fastest possible method, and trust the purchaser that if the original ever showed up to send it back at the suppliers expense etc...

That would have been a "wow" moment and created another advocate for the company. The shipper also had the insurance to,fall back on if needed...

We are talking about a fairly low value item here, if it were me, then I would also have expected a no quibble replacement sent by the quickest method.

Please don't shoot me down for the above comments, but I'm pretty certain I would have expected a no quibble replacement and sort the admin out later approach for this low value item.......£20k Rolex goes missing in the post different story..

    Regards

    Michael

+1 i did the same. Theres a reason US companies have european distributers , its so they can deal with one company for shipping and then they ship out.

OP should have ordered from european distie (which is on the carbonio website)

I did and got mine next day - it is brilliant.

    Hi Jesse

Just a shame that the price here is more than the USA but guess we have to just live with that!!

I did consider buying from USA to save a couple of quid but like you say just wasn't worth the hassle!

My car should arrive soon and may get a set of the extended paddles as well from Carbonio , just want to see how I get on with the standard ones first...

@Carbonio any chance of a loyalty scheme or discounts for your British Cousins?

    Regards

    Michael

I got my first from SuperTweaks in the UK. The price of US products here is always an issue. There was ironically a problem and it was lost in the post, but the replacement was quick to arrive. Better to be dealing with someone in the UK.

It is great although the only thing you need to do is to add a note on the back of your plate saying

"Fits ONLY a Ferrari 488 - do not steal !"

They are so easy to remove that when you want it as a permanent solution, someone taking it is the only worry.

We would like to extend a special thanks to the customers who took a moment out to share their positive experiences with our company. The Ferrari parts side of our company is very much a passion driven initiative and to receive the defense that we did in this thread is both humbling and appreciated.

To address some points raised in this thread, all of the photos on our website have been updated to accurately depict the product sold. Because of the universal plate sizing the brackets supplied to the North American market use screws to affix the plate to the mount. The rest of world (ROW) is very different with many countries not even having mounting holes. To this end we researched every plate size offered in the world and then created a mount that would fit almost every plate available (some extremely rare exceptions are not even worthy of note as they are in the middle of nowhere where you are not likely to ever see a Ferrari). For the ROW applications the plate is held on via a very strong 3M tape with no chance of separation if installed with the included 3M adhesion promoter packet.

Lastly we have found that theft is a non-issue. The plate mount is so stealthy that it would take a knowledgeable thief (remember that this is an ultra low volume/distribution product) to know it is even removable in the first place. What is popular is to just keep it in the boot/trunk and just put in on roadside if stopped or if needed for parking enforcement. We have never heard of a police officer not letting an owner go after hearing the 'sorry officer I just washed my car and forgot to put the plate back on' line.

It's a fair comment about the theft being unlikely. My second one arrived the other day for the Spider so I must be pretty happy.
