I just took delivery of my Speciale and I am looking into the Carbonio front license plate holder. Does anyone have experience with it or any other recommendations? I didn't see an installation video and I don't quite understand how it fits and holds in place. Photo of my Speciale is below.
Thanks for your help / recommendations.

That is a beautiful Speciale, congrats. I don't have a Speciale, but my Carbonio license plate just pops on my 458 Spider.

I read through the direction for the Speciale and they are not great: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0008/5494/9935/files/Ferrari_458_Speciale_Aperta_License_Plate_Mount_Installation_Instructions_17502fb9-b296-4483-bd83-5ce8ccf2d5dd.pdf?v=1693591981

It's only a $100 ticket in CA, San Diego doesn't seem to care, but I"m guessing LA is different.

When I bought my SpecialeA about 2 1/2 yrs ago now, the previous owner had the Carbonio with it. It was funny the dealer tried to keep it and I said fork it over, that's mine, and they did. Anyhow, It didn't install quite that easy as you had to pull fairly hard on the loaded spring connector bar to hook that on first and then the bar on the other side. Seemed like it had a chance to rub at the paint however once installed, it was fine. Mine did not have the rubber to be attached to the back of the plate which sounds like a good idea. I think that was added on later by Carbonio. I do not take mine on and off, do not want to risk anything happening. In my great state of Illinois the troopers are all over cars without a front plate so I just leave it on there.

Have a look at the installation instructions. It explains pretty clearly how the mechanism works.

The nose on the Speciale is quite different to any other car and you want to ensure that the active areo ducts on either side of the horse are not blocked which is something the Carbonio mount achieves without making any holes in the bumper. It is a pretty trick install.

I have the Carbonio plate for the 458 Italia and also one for the 812SF. Excellent product, you can take it on and off at will. The rubber backing is the key, it will not scratch the paint. Also excellent customer service, I had one of the springs get stretched that made the plate a little too easy to take off, so I called them and they sent replacement parts the next day. Excellent customer service and product.

I have the Carbonio too, just if Police tells me that the oem plate must be on the front before you may drive home. (not ever happende yet)

I also have a slightly smaller (aluminium) copy which I stick on the frontbumper. Its there since 4 years now and holding perfectly this way.

Went all through Europe to f.i. Monaco.

So: try an adhesive tape to stick your plate on the bumper ... will not damage the car !
