Hi Guys, I did a bit of research on this but could not come up with an answer. If I do two cardio workouts, the first is a 30 min run and the other is a 30 minute bike ride. In each I wear a heart rate monitor and maintain lets say the exact same heart rate for both workouts (so the time and the heart rate is identical for both workouts). The question is: What is the difference between the 2 workouts or are they essentially the same?
HR running tends to be higher than cycling; but your cardio system doesn't care what you're doing if you're keeping the load on it the same. Now you're sport specific muscles, they care.
