My 71 Euro LHD Dino has (1) 03.490.800 headlight and (1) 03.495.800 headlight. It sounds as though the 03.495.800 is intended for a RHD model and appears to have a parking lamp spot.

So is it correct to assume that 03.490.800 is for the LHD model?

    And what's the difference between a 03.490.700 and 03.490.800? And I've found a reference to a 03.490.816 for Dino 246...confused

Ron, for your M-serie, original delivered to Italy, 03.490.800 is correct.
03.495.800 is original for Dino delivered to Austria and Germany only.
    RHD is 05.495.800.
    Glass LHD:03.490.700
    Glass RHD:05.490.700

Ok, but then what's the difference between 03.490.800 and 03.490.816 that's claimed (by one web site) to be for a 246 Dino?

03.490.816 is Carello original code for full assembly (03.490.700 + 03.490.800). Hope this helps.
    Best,
    Emanuele

Yes, that helps explain it. Now I just need to decide which arm and which leg I'll have to give up to buy a pair, assuming they really are available and not just a tease web page.

What is the actual difference between 03.490.800 and 03.495.800? Is there something visual to detect the difference or was it some sort of Germany/Austrian road regulation requiring minor differences? Presumably 03.490.800 would have been correct for Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, etc.

Which headlamps are in the attached photos?

    03.495.800 has the 3rd lamp.
It's obvious when viewing the back of the lamp assembly

I've seen two different styles of Carello 03.490.700 headlamp glass stampings: vertical and horizontal part number. Which was used originally?

I just noticed the vertical example was a 03.485.700 (vs 03.490.700), so that could explain the difference.

Seller is delusional. Otherwise, I'm going to go lock up my pair of NOS `show' Carello's and the pair of NOS backups!

Nope...buyers are stupid. To much emphasis on the quest for originality.
