I am looking at making a wholesale deal on a Ferrari 360 spider that has had no paintwork other than bumper, nor ever been into an accident according to the PPI however carfax states:

    "08/02/2011 Georgia
Damage Report Vehicle at automotive recycler facility
CARFAX recommends checking for damage during your pre-purchase inspection."

Anyone know what that is/if it would stop banks with financing the car for a customer?

Based on the price the dealer and I are talking about, I would be able to retail the car for the low 60's, so I sort of want it. And Carfax shows NO accidents, and 28 service records (abotu 5 of them since that time).

dont think it affects financing. however, sounds like the car has been in an accident. if you don't have paperwork on the repair, you could be looking at less profit margin. at low 60s, it should be easy to move it with accident history if car is in good condition with reasonable miles

the thing is I had the car fully inspected by 2 shops and had them closely look over body work and the only repaint has been bumpers. So maybe it was a small accident

That would show up when a yard purchased or took the vehicle as inventory to then fix it and sell it.
It could it been a blown motor or some other mechanical issue that they fixed and then sold.

I would not want to buy that car from you. I think you may have trouble selling it.

agreed. damage + recycle facility means run away in my book. it would have to be stupid cheap. maybe 40k so you can drive the hell out of it, enjoy it, and eventually part it out once it dies. just my .02
