I have beige leather in my 2012 California; it is perfectly clean, but looks dry. I had a spot on the passenger seat where something came off of a passenger's clothing. I also had a pen mark on the leather seat of my Lexus, so I used a Meguiar's Gold Class Leather cleaner wipes to clean both marks (I've used them for years on my tan and beige leather in my Lexi with good results). It worked well in both instances, but left it a tad shinier than before. I then used it on the passenger headrest, which looked bone dry, and for which I'm concerned about just letting it stay that way. The wipe appeared to restore the leather (to the eye) but left it a tick darker.

I'm not certain it will lighten up in a day or so, or even if I'll notice. It does prompt me, though, to ask what folks who actually know what they are doing might do for their new leather to keep it looking great. Of course, if I have screwed it up for the remainder of history, at least I didn't do the whole seat...

    Thanks, Bob H

not an expert...:)... but after trying several products over the years including zymol/lexol products...favorite for leather is leatherique (rejuvenator oil, prestine clean)...here's a link/description.

Leatherique | Free Shipping Available - Detailed Image

sounds like you can get away with just the prestine clean (since your leather is new) but in time...can use the rejuvenator oil.

the rejuvenator oil is brushed on (foam brush works best imo)...rubbed into the leather using gloved hands and left on several hours to overnight)...

prestine clean is then used after to remove excess oil...either spray on a microfiber pad and wipe down...or directly onto leather and then wipe down w microfiber towel.

I've heard nothing but good words on Lestherique but I havent tried the product yet.

So far the best leather conditioning product I've used is Gliptone Liquid Leather.
I apply a thin layer after the leather is fully cleaned follow by wiping down the leather with damped microfiber towel for two times to ensure no cleaning residue remains on leather. After 24hrs I re-apply another thin layer. Every week after the initial application I would repeat on applying a thin layer of leather conditioner for the next 4 weeks. After that I would only apply once every month or two.

For those of you who have used both Leatherique and Gliptone products, please let me know which of the two is better.

Try Zaino. Works fine. Has a sunscreen and the best leather smell. I use it inside on furniture too. GTS BRuce

After doing extensive reading on Leatherique, I'm truly sold to this product. I'm ordering it right away.
