Caring for parents

My father worked REALLY hard when i was really little, so i often didn't see him (thankfully), but as the years went by, he moved up in the world, making more and working a little less... He loved money and loved material things and i would wear cheap sneakers until the soles literally wore out before i'd get another pair, while he added to his $40,000+ entertainment center, in the living room... His penchant for expensive food and other domestic items stopped with him and his wife - no Perrier water or Pepperidge Farm Milanos for the kids...!

i wonder if that sort of thing is genetic, because i have disgraceful spending habits and my saving "habits" are even worse - non-existent...! Of course, i don't have any mouths to feed besides from my own...

 

People shouldn't expect others to bail them out because they lived above their means and now the **** has hit the fan. It is not the responsibility of the Childern to help out their Parents if they do that and vice versa.
