I'm going to be in Carmel for a few days over spring break, what are some good restaurants that I need to go to? And some good bars to check out at night? Thanks for your help.

Mondos is a great Italian place for dinner and the brunch at Pebble Beach (the lodge) is awesome. Em Le's in Carmel has great breakfast as well. The bars in Carmel are mostly just the locals, if you're looking for a lil larger crowd (selection lol) Cannery row in Monterey will be A bit better.

For nightlife you will want to go to Monterey. You will probably like the Mucky Duck, Lolapalooza and the dance club around the corner, which I cannot remember the name of. Restaurants? What's your budget? Carmel sort of appeals to an older crowd. Luca is worth a try on Dolores. For breakfast, go to Katy's on Mission or the Wagon Wheel out in Carmel Valley next to the Baja Cantina (a Ferrari hangout). In Monterey I like Montrio and The Whaling Station and if it is your first time you should go to the Sardine Factory.

Katy's on Mission between 5th and 6th is the best breakfast on the planet!! It is in Several travel magazines every year and everyone I have ever know who has gone there has said the same thing. Most weekends there is a bit of a wait but it is defintely worth it.
The newest little rest/bar where people which is the local "hotspot" (if you can call it that in Carmel..lol) is Luca on Delores between Ocean and 7th.
The newest bar which is cool later in the evening is on San Carlos & 4th its so new I can't remember the name... starts with a "b" though
Grasings on the corner of Mission and 6th is awsome (best burger in town and awsome food all around...local favorite) a must visit!!!
Beginning the first Thursday after Daylight Savings the locals meet at Baja Cantina late afternoon and usaully brings a lot of nice cars (american mostly but several modern sports cars are often there also)...I am a fixture with my 355. They have band that starts at 6 or so and is almost always a good time.

Other great spots... Casinova's (great for lunch), French Poodle(awsome food best for more intimate dinner),Piatti's(Great for drinks and light food)

Places to stay away from...Rio Grill at the crossroads (tourist trap), Hogs Breath Inn- (used to be awsome when it was Clint's Place but has gone downhill bigtime)

Hope this helps and if you see a black 355 around town or at Baja Cantina Say hello!!

    Michael

hey guys, took up some of your recommendations and went to cassinova's, luca, and katy's place. katy's and cassinova's were great but i guess i didnt know what to order at luca's because my main course wasnt so great but the appetizers were amazing. one place no one mentioned was nico, which i ended up going to twice and i thought it was the best food i had while i was there. also i saw a lot of very nice cars while i was there but no f-cars sadly. thanks again for your help
