italian festival apparently on this weekend, anyone know the likelihood of F or L cars there? i hear there'll be a decent turn out of Alfa's. i'm dam busy at the moment, but will make time to attend if i know there's stuff worth seeing.
ah, found a website... http://www.carnevale-adelaide.com according to the schedule, at 4.00 there's the "Presentation of the winners of the Ferrari Club Australia 2005 Concorso Italiano South Australia". hmm, worth $12 bucks to see that, considering i probly won't stick around to par-tay...? a pic from last year: http://www.carnevale-adelaide.com/photo-7.jpg Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ash, the tent will be full of ferraris with the paint nearly worn off from polishing. The Lambos are unfortunately unavailable as they will be out driving in the sunshine instead!
heh. yeah think i'll give the wogfest a miss. will just end up getting sh!tfaced and partying in town when i've got too much werk to do. haven't seen you cruising for a few weeks, not letting it sit there and rot i hope... forgive me, but this morning i thought i saw you from half a mile away, got to within a few hundred metres and noticed it was a fly yellow MR spyder. D'OH!
I used to have one of those MR2s- in that colour. Sold it to a motorcycle cop - hope the good price I offered him counts for something one day.
dunno what it is about those cars, they seem like they have such potential for... something, but the word "hairdresser" is firmly implanted in my head whenever i see one.
Girls car - who said that? Nice to drive though. Badly needs wheels - running 15's and looked underdone even then (2000) My wife liked it - nuff said!
oh, you got one of those hover models then? those superconductors can be a pain, especially the ones who check your ticket on the bay tram, think they're so great with their cape and transadelaide leotard.
If you want to see some real Ferrari action, come out to Mallala next weekend (10th -13th inc) and say g'day. I'll be there for the VIC state races and so will 2 360 Challenges. Also a chance for you to meet Allan Simonsen, but he won't be driving at this stage.
Ash, I live just around the corner in Wakefield Street, so I wandered down before dark to have a look. There were 13 Fcars including a tidy looking 246 and BB in the F tent. Not many Alfa's, but a good display of Fiat 500's and a couple of older Fiats (a '38 and a '49). The atmosphere was OK, but I think Phil's suggestion is worthwhile. I you need to make the choice, miss Carnevale and drop by Mallala next week. Best, Tim
Wakefield Steet ? So do i...i bet we are neighbours. Mr mhh, not to sound rude but are your the man driving the Yellow Lambo Gallardo around the streets of Adelaide ?
Possibly. I'm in Kent Town. Apologies for speaking for Mark H but, yes, it is he who is steering the yellow G around town. Best, Tim
have you been up close n personal with it? awesome piece of engineering... have you taken the RS off the showroom floor yet? i haven't been past there for a perve for a while.
Ash, I only look on with pride at Mark as he clocks up the kilometres. I did have the privilege of some quality time with a G in Joberg last year, so appreciate your comments. Sadly, both the GT3's are gone, and I am without a Pcar for the first time in more than ten years. The original car (the MY00) is still in town and the RS was recently purchased by Ian Allen and now lives in Sydney. At least it is being used from time to time. My period of ownership was nothing short of an embarrassment. Best, Tim
was that thing capable of being road-registered? i'm not a huge Porsche fan (though i'm currently commuting in a '67 bug ) but that car was pretty dam sexy and i would have loved to have seen it on the streets even half as often as i see the Gallardo. it's gotta suck having a car like that and not getting any seat time in it. i've got the Top-Gear video of a showdown between the RS and a 360, entertaining stuff.
Keeping off topic, not an RS, but went for a run with a GT3 this morning. Over breakfast we agreed we need a Ferrari or two for company - any takers in Adelaide? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, and Chateau did register it for me but, because it never found its way onto the road, I didn't have the plates fitted. '67 bug? What happened to the X19? Best Tim
oh that thing's been in the shop forever now. my mechanic's a good guy, but due to other stuff hasn't been able to devote the time to my project that's required to get it going again. it's pretty much done, engine blueprinted and ready to go back in, i just gotta keep nagging him... so it'll be a little while yet before i've got something that can keep up with you boys through the twisty's... but watch this space. here's it's current home, indefinitely it seems... (look up). sigh, time to jump in the bug. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Don't worry, Ash. If the local Ferrari guys aren't reading this, I can probably get you a ride in a Lambo instead. The 7am start doesn't bother you?
oh dear god, i'm probably just getting ready for the land of nod at that time. but hey if there's ever a chance to be a part of the running of the bulls then i don't care what time it is, i'll be there with party pants on. as it is i'm trying to push myself into pre-dawn jogs along the river when it's beautiful and fresh to counteract my sedentary lifestyle, so far my record is one consecutive day.
