Some people (most?) on here are for them, I've been against them for a long time now. IMO a mistake isn't really penalized, and in some cases a driver can actually can actually gain an advantage during the race by skipping across, whether by accident or intentional, it happens.

Seems that Hamilton, Alonso, Martin Brundle and Anthony Davidson all agree on this, Hamilton brought it up yesterday in the drivers briefing saying he wanted to get rid of them...Alonso agreed.

IMO, they should have just maintain the gravel traps. It's more challenging. Once your out, your out. No runoff area for a second chance.

I can see that they are safer as the car is more likely to lose speed on tarmac than skipping across gravel, but I'd prefer it if a mistake was more costly. I think they should replace them with pools of tar so the car is slowed, but you cannot then carry on!

For sure they are safer. That is a good thing. Agree that they are too easy to run through and offer not enough of a penalty though... More grasscrete?

Last year a lot of people here (all?) seemed to think Kimi running wide a La Source and passing a load of cars while off track was fine. Nigel told the drivers before the race that if they did that they would be penalized.
