Hello, What do you guys think about the carpet fade and engine compartment of this car? http://www.auction123.com/showroom/boardwalk_ferrari_maserati/1997/Ferrari/F355/Spider/ZFFXR48A4V0107733.html?showroom_dealer=8277&wait=false Thanks
I've seen black turn blueish, but that looks like some ill-fated attempt to clean the carpet. Regardless...its hideous, and would need to be replaced. (not sure if you can re-dye with any quality, but if you can, Black might be the easiest).
Seems a little odd that Boardwalk wouldn't just replace it or re-dye it before the sale. I've heard good things about them lately.
With only 17k miles on the clock, that seems like more than typical fade. I also wonder if they used something on the carpets that affected the color. That is a really odd place to fade like that. My 348 has more than twice the miles on it and my interior is in much better shape. Something isn't adding up with this car.
+1. Check the carpet on the door panels! Yikes. I would agree it appears to be an overly agressive attempt at cleaning. But ultimately the only fix is to replace all the carpets, including the carpet on the door panels. What are those hideous red nipples on the dash panel????
If you are seriously looking at this car I can go to visit the dealer tomorrow. I am in Dallas on business and could do a quick once over, keep in mind not a PPI but could comment on the car and condition to see if you want to hire someone to run the car through a PPI. I sent you a PM with my cell phone number if needed.
