What do people recommend for replacement carpet sets? I need gray carpet -- Dino Parts doesn'tr have gray. World Upholstery is apparently in indefinite flux. Other options?

Contact Hank with HVL, best source for materials like this.

Beware of the stupid prices these people charge for average goods. Do your research and you can find the carpet yourselve

$2K for a carpet Dino set is plain stupid. Retain & reuse your original floor mats, get someone to bind the edges

I used these guys many years ago (12) for another car and the quality was good back then, they were a nightmare to get delivered but OK in the end. May have got better since then!

I would say most often you get what you pay for. Hank is the go to for absolutely top notch according to my experience. I bought carpet, binding, roof and sun screen material from him and it was by far the best match to Ferrari's fabric I've seen. Lakewell's finish and fit is good but I was disappointed over the carpet material, it was not near to the knitted wool appearance I expected.

    I agree.
Years ago I needed uncommon color carpet materials for a Daytona I was restoring and Henk had them made for me.
The leathers, mouse hair and pretty much all his upholstery materialsare closest thing to originals available, at least for Daytonas.

The leather quoted by HVL was way more expensive than purchasing the VM3234 connoly leather from a UK supplier, same with the mousehair. If you do your homework you can get it much cheaper and the same product, however If you want a easy life then pay the inflated price.

Peter, I found there boot carpet material was totally inaccurate, the car interior carpet was a good match supplied by Wilton. It may of changed since i last used them. A sample would confirm it.

World Upholstery should be avoided - they're not delivering, not responding to emails and their voicemail is full :(

From my experiences, “Connolly” leathers produced today have nothing in common with the original “Connolly” (which folded about 30 years ago) used in Daytonas back in the day.
Like so many other revived vintage products, today’s “Connolly” appears to be just a marketing gimmick relying on the brand name recognition.
So yes, you get what you pay for.

P.S. In past 40+ years, I’ve never been accused of taking an easy approach on my restorations or parts I reproduce for them.

Agree with you with that Hank is quite expensive but I’ve never regretted buying the materials. I also have his mouse hair product and I really like the quality and appearance. Admittedly I bought the Connolly leather from uk hide. It’s looking good and is quite thick and appearing solid. The colour is starting to show slight wear at the typical location on the drivers seat but I consider that valuable patina

I used UK hide as well and they provide high quality material with a perfect match to VM3234.

Samples from both companies were similar, but IMHO the UK hide sample was way more accurate and better quality. Perhaps you should look around, you may be able to save your customers some money!

FWIW UK hide follow the same specification

Yeah it's a shame. I got floormats from them and liked them. They weren't perfect -- which was perfect bc of course the original Dino floormats weren't perfect. I've contacted Henk & O'Rourke but that's my biggest worry with both of them: they will be too nice lol.
