The Carrera GT 4 Sale at Algar is $600k I just got off the phone with them. For anyone looking for a Carrera GT this is the car! Erik
Will they take a check? I left all my cash and credit cards back in the hotel room. For the price though, that is an awesome buy.
Uuuuuhhhhhh......hello ??? The car has an MSRP of $440K USD......1,000 of the 1,500 slated for production have been sold......I can buy one "today" at MSRP........"I" just got off the phone with my dealer too........
You can buy one "today" but you won't get it "today", hence the mark up. And more than 1000 are spoken for.
Rexcoltrain....... I understand that, but IMHO anyone who pays a $160K USD (36%) premium over list for one, when it will take 12 months for one to arrive, has their priorities all wrong......or too much money and a bad financial advisor. Teenferrarifan...... Did you ask Algar what their test drive policy was......?? Heh.....
I agree paying $160k for the priveledge to drive something today seems crazy, but to some that is an insignificant amount. I remeber the duPont Registry from a few years back had ads with asking prices on 360 Spyders in the $400's, and Z8's for $300k, both over 100% mark up.
The car is awesome! But if you think your bank account is short mine is can't even pay the sales tax On Algar's website it said inquire about the price so I called up and asked. They want to get in the $600k range. I was told. If you pay sticker though you would have to be crazy not to at least test the market out. If you can get 160k+ profit now you can always buy another Carrera GT down the road for less then the $600k and it is a nice chunk of change to make in less then a month. I wonder though how Porsche views flipping a car like this? Remember Ferrari and the F40 they weren't happy and came up with that 2 year lease for the F50 type agreement. Erik Erik
Seems that's all changed. There have been several F50's that have changed hands 4 times. And, a handful of Enzo's are now in the secondary market. Compared to the Enzo which is currently traded at approx. 1.2 mil. the Carrera GT at approx. 5-600K is quite a deal.
I know where a CGT can be had for August delivery at MSRP. It was the car I turned down. Anyone interested in the contact info, PM me and I'll send you the dealer and sales managers contact info.
I started selling cars back in 1989....one year after Enzo died and the overall market went stupid for a while. I remember the $150K 328's......heh...... To pay a premium such as the amount stated for something that is available thru normal channels, does not make any business sense at all, unless you can "immediately" resell it for "significantly" more to compensate you for the implied risk and carrying costs. The car is not sold out by any stretch of the imagination at this point and I would wait for the estimated 12 months if I had the means to order one the way I wanted it.
Arizona Guy he is only selling if he gets what he is asking. The car is on consignment so the owner Labcars(Les) still owns it and drives it around and whatnot. So lets see what happens. Erik
KDS once again be correct. ANYONE can get one for msrp. Asking 600K is a joke. A used one which is what this one is is worth IMHO 340k. Look at GT2's. Low milage cars that were bought to flip are going for 140K. CGT's will soon sell at 250K.
i sat in one the other day, i dont like the sriving position at all, shirter is ackward and it feels like you are hiding below the dash. I used to love the car, just dont know how drivable it is for short people like me (5'10")
