What it all boils down to: Odd shaped Ferrari with flappy paddles VS V10 F1 engine in a sexy porsche I'll take two of the latter. And CaliforniaFan - who in the right state of mind would not like the exhaust tone of the CGT??? No offense, it's just that when I hear that car, I want to have babies with it.
I did not mean that I did not like it, as it does sound great all around, but I feel that it still could be a tiny bit better at idle.
WOW, even on the Ferrari forum everyone is liking the GT! I have just loved the GT since it came out. Could never afford the darn thing though. How about driving here around crappy roads NJ? I hear they dont do to good on these roads? Does the car rattle your brains out on little bumps? Or worse yet cause damage to the car. I know that there is a complete steel undercarriage plating that protects the vital parts but the front parts look real low. Thanks, JOE
That is one heck of an exhaust. I guess that adds $20,000 to the price. I think that is the same exhaust that VRALEXANDER has on his black one.
Joe I think us in NY have the worst roads, and trust me I believe my Lambo is lower then the CGT, damn you as well now I set my standards up to a CGT lol
He has AWE (I think) straight pipes, which are around $3,000. His car sounds significantly more insane. I could do a set for $500 if I get a test drive. edit: Here's his car.
It sounds so loud for just straight pipes. Well I am not complaining because I want the same exact setup and if it only costs $3000, I am happy.
If you're over 60 and have way more money than you need, go 599. Otherwise CGT for sure. I think the 599 has a serious kick in the ass of depreciation coming its way. The CGT will not lose you as much money in the long haul for that. Also the Porsche just looks meaner. The Ferrari is more sleek, sexy maybe, but just not the all out exotic the Carrera GT is. Go for the Porsche. Oh, and be careful of the clutch.
If you like that, wait until he gets the new factory engine built for turbos, and a pair of GT42's on the thing. VRAlex subscribes to my everything is better with turbos theory.
You have to understand the complexity of the motor, and how special it is and then you would understand.. It is basically a built F1 motor slapped into a road going supercar, it revs SO SO fast that it is hard to get engine noise just crusiing by or at an idle without straight pipes, the revs are instant!
JOE, let me tell you that those were all of the thoughts that popped into my head as well, and let me tell you x2 we couldn't be more wrong.. Due to the whole carbin fiber construction/shell/and so on, it absorbs up all of the harshness of bumps, uneven surfaces and so on in the cabin, its like you are surrounded by a huge shock absorber.. I took my friend in my GT2 when I said, I couldn't imagine the CGT as far as comfort and just driving around when mine is horrible, that must be worse.. He said you couldn't be more wrong, and explained
Darn wife thinks I should get the 430 instead of the CGT! I'll have to find a way to schmooze her over. I think the problem is that all of those stinking GT videos I have been showing her of how fast the thing is, she's scared I'll kill myself in it. Unlike Joey, I am a very slow driver. Now I tried to tell her the 430 is so much faster than the GT but she doesnt buy it.
as far as looks between the murc and the CGT i dono i like my doors up as far as power i know the CGT is faster, now as far as my driving, if the speed limit is 55 then i drive 54
Just wanted to tell my local freinds that I went with the CGT in case you guys didn't read the 360 forum. My wife in her car may have smoked the 360 but not this car. That is as long as I dont stall the beast again. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congratulations again! I stalled the 1st time I drove a CGT too. I read everybody goes through that with the CGT.
