GT, I would have bought one but that event would have triggered divorce proceedings. The SLR is oddly styled, IMO.

I can't imagine anyone on this board voting for the SLR.

Amazingly, I just was talking to my friend who is a Porsche NUT, and it turns out he's really smitten... with the Murcielago! Says he'd take one over a Carrera GT! But he would take a 959 over a Murci...

so far its a clean sweep for porsche...doesnt look good for M.B....will the slr ever become a classic or is it car that someone will be able to but for 200 k in a few years? i actually like the regular sl55looks better..and its a conv. and with the 320k i save, i could buy more toys...a murci used for 230k and a 512tr....

I love the 911GT1 also. Thinking of building this replica on a 914 or Boxster or 993 chassis. I think th e914 would be the cheapest. I would probably shoehorn in a 350 Chevy V8 or maybe a 504 just bcus I'm a prevert :) Except mines going to be a convertible w CGT humps behind the driver

Given the choice, I would take neither. For that money, I'll keep my Murci and buy another car (DB9 Volante possibly). However, if I were forced to choose between the two, the CGT is the winner by a landslide.

Being a Mercedes fanboy, I picked the C GT. SLR sucks so bad it's not even funny. For that much money you expect a car, not an appliance.

The reason it's so long is because McLaren wants a rear engined (or was it mid?) while Mercedes wanted a front engined car. The engine is placed closer to the middle rather front.

CGT all the way! But if MB had not messed with the styling of their SLR VISION show car, then I'd pick the MB. And they did a convertible version of that car. Maybe there's hope that the next gen SL will look like the original concept car.

The proportions of the production MB are so bad!!!
