I did noticed it but didn't knew what they were for...thanks for the insight...this car, although not a pretty car, is for sure an amazing model and a great piece of history.

As you see the foils are close to the car and help air to follow the car body...not unusual to day but astonishing in those days!

Here is a low quality reproduction from the Phil Hill book Inside Track. Very expensive but worth it. Amazing color Kodachrome from the 1950's and 1960's taken mostly by Phil himself.

I am being told the Canada Shoes Porsche 356 writing in the red box says the following:

    Federalismo Sur 393
    DISTRIBUIDORA RIVE
    DE OCCIDENTE SA.
    Guadalajara, Jal

    AMERICA
    La mejor llanta del mundo

Can anyone confirm?? This is the address and region Canada Shoes was in at the time.

Does anyone know if this Porsche 356 still exists?? The Canada Shoes 356 running in the modern Carrera is a fake.

If you need help with a restoration on a real car feel free to contact me, as the person restoring your car will almost certainly get it wrong :)

Does anyone know what the Pan Am inspection stickers say(small letters) and if they came in 3 colors like the photo?? These are from 1953.

We are now working on the 1954 car #53 AGFA Porsche 356 car in both 1/24th and 1/43rd. Anyone have a high resolution shot of the front of the car?? We are trying to read all the auto club stickers on the hood. Figured out most of the car now. The roof looks like they started with a AGFA logo but officials made them put the 3rd number logo overt it before they could start the race. Any roof photos of the car floating around?? The bottom model has a few errors that we are correcting on the new Scale Designs by Cartograf and UMI sheet.

Saw this photo taken in Southern California in the mid 1950's. Looks like the Pan Am car in the middle. I guess this car is now gone and a replica was made to look exactly like it.

You should be able to do all the Porsche's in this photo by February next year in 1/24th scale. FPPM already did the #55 Porsche 550 and will do the #58 car early next year in 1/24th scale. Scale Designs is doing the #53 AGFA 356 now in 1/24th scale.

I plan on doing this as a diorama for the Ferrari Expo 2019 in March next year.
