Carrera Panamericana — video + yet another special edition?

First, great video featuring Herbert Linge and excellent cinematography. Nothing but respect for the man, and the race must have been grueling back in the day. It certainly cemented Porsche’s reputation for durability on top of performance. Worth watching for the history and the visuals.

So, A+ for the video.

As far as the special edition 911 Cabriolet… not much detail in the video, but it feels like we’re down to a nice blue and some badges to commemorate a legendary achievement in 1952. Don’t get me wrong, I think the 992 Cabriolet is among the best soft tops you can buy in 2022-2023, but for the money I’d get a great 356 Cabriolet, a car with period credentials. It’s hard to predict how much of a premium the 911 Carrera Panamericana Edition will command, but personally I wouldn’t pay much over the regular production 911.
