I was one of the original founders of that event. In the beginning it was about the cars and the culture. Now it is all about marketing. You have so many groups that feed off of each other to make a buck off of the participants. Just to prove my point look at how many non exotic are at that event. The gentlemen that runs it now has burned so many bridges in the car community. It is nothing like it used to be.
I wish we could just get a pure exotic show going, FerrariChat would be commercial too, so would have to be a club. However, might work if users just started organizing meet ups then just let it naturally go viral without any commercial involvement.
My schedule is always a bit up in the air but I would be there when I'm in town. Could probably get a new R8 to come along with my F12
So... what's keeping us from making something happen? I might have a few ideas of locations, with limited access to prevent the " wrong " crowd from showing up. We should discuss over lunch sometime.. S
we can, I know north Dallas will draw most cars, but I've been thinking awhile Southlake needed a meet. there are several good locations. heck, the Porsche club got 150 cars out to town center just for coffee.
I always liked the old Saturday at Starbucks the FCA used to do. Come and go as you please, no set start time, always had a nice selection of cars. A smaller group for sure but never once worried about the car or crowds.
I've been told Cars & Bikes is in the works (probably next year) to make a return. It was a pretty low key show and always had interesting cars with a close-knit feel to it, imo. Really helped that RAC was well off the road at the time.
I am open to the idea and have a few ideas as well. This needs to be exotic only and or invite only. We do not need any of the cars that ruin so many events.
